thanks deepam for the reply, i thought of getting these done by 31st march, but i am still outside india and i guess i should be back by next week. Then only repairs will be carried out.
Regarding front suspension, both front struts are leaking, no abnormal sound from them as of now.its completely silent, so i guess only strut renewal without bush renewal would suffice.
Regarding clutch, it is shuddering frequently, so i am thinking of changing it. as the same was happening in my altis also which was gone after clutch renewal.fuel efficiency is still the same and no slippage is also observed.
belt renewal will be on proactive basis.
AGAIN THANKS FOR DETAILED REPLY.

@rajk
I still feel first replace the Stabilizing Bushes and though there is leak in strut you can use it for another 10-15k km.
Regarding your clutch shuddering intermittently at 135k km, I too had experienced but did not change the clutch.
I changed the Master Sleeve Cylinder Part # 306106175R- Cost INR 3575 and Gear box oil - the shuddering has gone and gear shift is also Smooth.
According to me your clutch still has life why change it prematurely.

First of all thank you for keeping this thread alive.
I am new here and I own a Nissan Terrano 2015 XLD 85ps. I bought it as a used car while it had done around 82k kms. I have driven it for around 7k kms now and I am facing a few problems. I really need all your suggestions as I am fed up taking my car to different mechanics to diagnose these issues.

1. I hear a clanking sound from the front wheels while making turns in bad roads/no roads . I checked with 2 mechanics and 1 suggested suspension mounts to be changed and the other one told there is no issue. I went with the suspension mount change and it doesn't look like it is solved. On a recent visit to another garage, the guy suggested to replace the link rod joints (im
Not sure of the exact part name).

2. As soon as I bought the car, the AC had issues and while checking it was found that the ECM command that controls the Compressor system has failed and hence the Compressor won't shut down on it's own. So the mechanic guy made a direct line to the compressor which is controlled by a physical thermostat. (works fine now But I am afraid this might become a big issue someday, because often I can see the engine revving on its own while the AC is on).

3. Also, other recommendations that were given by a mechanic guy was - to service the injectors (which would cost around 8k per injector - as said by him. Though none of my other mechanics suggested to do this), to change the timing kit since it has clocked close to 90k kms, replace the entire clutch assembly.

4. The dashboard vibrates at times, but every mechanic I checked with doesn't seem to consider this as an issue. They say all Diesels are like this (which I refuse to agree).

5. The fuel economy doesn't seem to go above 15kmpl both in city and highway rides (which is surprising).

6. The AC control knobs have given up and replacing them costs alot (as told by NISSAN Service).

All these services sum up to a hefty amount and I am worried alot. Is there any way to diagnose and find out the exact problems so that I don't end up spending on wrong replacements. Especially the ECM service scares me since every guy tells a different story - to replace the entire unit along with the Odo and the key set, to consult ECM repair guys etc.

Thanks in advance for all the support I'm about to receive.

Congratulations on owning Terrano 85 PS XLD. Welcome to the Family.
Just out of curiosity, where do you reside? How far is NISSAN Service center.

To your query # 1: I hear a clanking sound from the front wheels while making turns in bad roads/no roads .
My response to your query # 1: Both Mechanics maybe wrong. Replace the Stabilizing Road bushes and this sound will go. I had shared the Part #, Nissan India Part # is 546114237R [both replaced Part cost is INR 688]. However given the age, Suspension overhaul may be needed but it depends on your point to keep or sell the car. This sound will not go till bushes are replaced.

To your query # 2.
My response to your query # 2: I guess the AC Thermostat had to be replaced.

To your query # 3: Also, other recommendations that were given by a mechanic guy was - to service the injectors (which would cost around 8k per injector - as said by him. Though none of my other mechanics suggested to do this), to change the timing kit since it has clocked close to 90k kms, replace the entire clutch assembly.
My response to your query # 3: Unless you're seeing any issue, do not do anything except changing the Timing kit and Drive belt if the previous owner has not changed it per schedule. Nissan Service center may have history get it checked with them.

To your query # 4. The dashboard vibrates at times, but every mechanic I checked with doesn't seem to consider this as an issue. They say all Diesels are like this (which I refuse to agree).
My response to your query # 4: Open the bonnet, the AC pipe on the right side may be touching the body, place a packing to cushion between the Body and the ac pipe, makes your car becomes super silent,

To your query # 5. The fuel economy doesn't seem to go above 15kmpl both in city and highway rides (which is surprising).
My response to your query # 5: It depends on driving style and what RPM and throttle you're driving and changing gears. It also depends on the Diesel quality, though we pay huge taxes getting clean fuel is still challenge in Modern India. Improved driving and better fuel quality improves fuel efficiency.

To your query # 6. The AC control knobs have given up and replacing them costs alot (as told by NISSAN Service).
My response to your query # 6: Please post pics to understand the condition.

Thanks alot for the response. Will try/checkout the points that you mentioned. And about my driving style, I drive in a sedate manner and I usually don't go beyond 1500rpm in city rides. In Highways I thought of revving it a bit before shifting but I felt the car doesn't like to be revved. Is this how the Terrano behaves or is there something wrong?

Regarding the AC control knobs, no physical damage visible. But the air flow direction control knob is stuck and the local workshop guys said It can't be repaired. The blower speed control knob doesn't work when it is set to 1st speed. So we set it to 2nd speed all the time.

Response: Terrano revs up easily till 3500 rpm. Before hitting the Fuel Injector, I suggest getting these 2 things done:
  1. Clean EGR Valve
  2. Clean Engine Manifold.

If pick up improves, then good. Else check if there is any leakage on Turbo pipe. The Turbo pipe if damaged the Pick up drops or makes loud sound.
