25K km without a problem, you are one lucky customer :)

I checked out the AWD W8, on display ouside our office building, and I was shocked to hear the promise of 2 week delivery (for AWD W8 , and 100% finances :)
We got ours with 3 week wait (paid cash) AWD A8 and it was made shipped delivered in that time. By checking the vin made in Aug 2013 we got in September. We have done a 500 km round trip in a day and felt fine. Taking it to Mumbai from Goa on Monday so that will be almost 600 km non stop but for calls of nature. only problem I have booked varius extra items from mahindra dealer fits crap after maket stuff which he is now having to replace I have M&M area sales manager on the case and he is not best pleased, problem is there is only one dealer in Goa so you have to deal with them.

regards to all

I booked a Dolphin Grey W8 FWD ( unfortunately wanted the Green which was discontinued) on 14th October, got delivery on 31st October thru Anant Cars, Bangalore. The next day, with family did a 600 km holiday run from Bangalore to Belur, Halebid, Hassan and Chikmagalur over 3 days, enjoyed the drive and the handling. Took care to ensure that I stayed below 80 kph speeds as it was advised by the dealer. Then did a 700 km run to Chennai and back in November end, and for the Christmas season, did a trip to Goa and back. The return trip was non stop except for tea, lunch and bio breaks, and was 690 Kms. Absolutely rock solid handling, pleasure to drive and no problems. This is my first SUV, having been a sedan owner for last 25 years, but all apprehensions of handling, high power etc vanished after the first trip. Beautiful cheetah! I had considered and test driven the Duster, Safari Storme, Terrano and Yeti before settling down to choose the XUV.

It is summer time again, summer time means a long trip to hills.....
So after logging more than 46000 km, XUV is again ready for a long trip....this time over to Sikkim.......yes we are starting tomorrow morning for Darjeeling, Sikkim and if possible Bhutan...

Tyres are good for another 20k.....battery still not giving hiccoughs....

Getting 18 kmpl on XUV 5OO; you seem to be driving sedate and in right gears! Keep it up. I had never heard of this mileage. Touch wood.

So are you tyres the original set?

yes..i kept all original settings......it is now 66666 km......i think i will have to replace battery in very near future because the battery indicator is now taking time to get off after starting the engine.
I sure do not drive sedate, but yes i keep right gears and do not over speed for sure.

Bookings done! (17/06)
Finances arrangement done. (30/06).
Black PUMA (W6) it is. Waiting for dealer's call for PDI, as I have told them I won't give any payments unless done with satisfactory PDI. I have also insisted on Bridgestone Dueller tires only, otherwise I won't accept delivery and will wait for the lot to come with BST shoes. So far they've budged to my demands.

congratulations Sir
Thank you sir. I have been following this thread closely since few months. And it helped me a lot to make decision.

We have booked 2 XUVs together. Both W6 Black. I have a question here. While I can settle without roofrack (because of small family size), other friend is looking for some luggage arrangement. The original roof rails of XUV are flush mount and cannot be used to tie bags on top. He doesn't want not trust reliability of inflatable Handirack. So was looking for alternatives. The original roof rails of XUV are flush mount and cannot be used to tie bags on top. So question is, is there any provision which allows us to open whole ( or some part) of roof rail cover to expose load points on which roof rack can be mounted? We do not want racks which are held together by clamps on sides and mounted on door frame sils.

Yes indeed some parts of the roof rail can be exposed and rack can be attached to it.....if you see the roof rail you can find some cuts where you can detach the soft part and rack could be attached to the metal underneath it.
