Panorama Hotel - Leh city , Changspa road

I stayed in Hotel Panorama on Changspa road in Leh city ,in the month of January 2013 . It is a nice property away from the hustle and bustle of the main market . It is very close to the Shanti Stupa. The market is a pleasant 2 - 3 km walk away . The property has two buildings , one has been constructed recently . The old building houses the kitchen and the common dining room . It also has rooms for guests to stay in at a cheaper rate .These rooms are less furnished and have less facilities for heating .

At lunch and dinner one vegetable , one daal , one non veg dish( irrespective of the day ) , rice and chapatis are offered . There is always a sweet dish after meal . Eggs , sandwiches , porridge , corn flakes , coffee , tea , milk ( powdered ) are available at breakfast .

The new building has 12 rooms well furnished , equipped with heaters being fed with hot water from boilers . The good thing about this heating was no oxygen was being burned inside the room , no smell , no suffocation . It was a very pleasant stay . Nice and clean toilets . Tata sky tv with basic pack . Each room has a one double bed and one single bed . Wi-fi was available but the signal in the new building was weak compared to the old building .

We stayed in the new building . The tariff was Rs 2600 inclusive of the three meals . Please note that it was Rs 2600 be it one person , two or three person . THey said tariff is fixed for winters . It is less in summers around 1300 .Heating is switched off between 11 pm and 6 am ,but the room stayed warm through the night . Big windows with excellent view . Kindly do no stay on the ground floor if you love your privacy . Everybody going in and out will be easily be able to peep in .

Staff is very courteous . The only problem will be no parking space is available .

Thanks for sharing ... This looks like a 5-Star hotel in comparison to "Shanti Guest House" in winters .:p
