Hello Globetrotters,

I hope you all are doing fine. My name is Nikhil, 26, Mumbai. I am going to explore Parvati Valley during end week of May. During that, I am visiting Manikaran, Kheerganga, Tosh. Tosh will be my last stay at Parvati and I will be leaving Tosh in morning by 8am on 31st May and heading to Chandigarh for my train which is 16 hours later.

So, for my return journey way i.e Tosh-Barshaini-Kasol-Bhutar, I am going to use transport whatever available. Can you suggest how can I reach from Tosh to Bhuntar? and then from Bhuntar, I am planning to catch bus to Chandigarh. So, my another query is for Bhuntar to Chandigarh, is it ok if I didn't book bus beforehand and reach directly on Bhuntar National Highway for catching Buses to Chandigarh? Are Buses frequent for that route?

Also, And what are the local rates for Buses and Taxis in Parvati Valley??

From Tosh you can easily get a shared taxi to Kasol and from there, finding a bus or taxi to Kullu and Bhunter is quite easy.

From Kullu there are regular buses to Chandigarh.

Thanks Yogesh, I also heard about HRTC services from Manikaran to Chandigarh which departs around 12pm. Is that information correct?

Yes, there are HRTC and private buses operating from Manikaran to Chandigarh as well. However, Kullu has better frequency. There are even buses from Kasol to Chandigarh and many other options as well. Therefore, you do not have to worry about this factor, unless you are travelling during winter. I even saw Indo-Canadian Mercedes Buses at Kasol.

Hi Yogesh, I finally figured out my final itinerary and below are my sources and destinations. Can you able to tell me Buses availability in that route and from where do I pre-book it:

24th May - Bus from Pathankot to Mcleodganj, Dharmshala - After 2PM

26th May - Bus from Mcleodganj to Bir

27th May - Bus from Bir to Bhuntar/Kasol

31st May - Bus from Manikaran to Chandigarh

Yes, there are HRTC and private buses operating from Manikaran to Chandigarh as well. However, Kullu has better frequency. There are even buses from Kasol to Chandigarh and many other options as well. Therefore, you do not have to worry about this factor, unless you are travelling during winter. Having said that, you might not get a direct bus from Bir. You would have better luck finding one from Palampur or Dharamshala.

How was experience in getting the bus & if possible the cost involved in transportation.

Any addtional details that you would want to share.

I'm doing a similar trip in June 2nd fortnight.
Pathankot -> Mcleodganj ->Bir -> Kasol -> Tosh -> Kheerganga -> Kasol -> Delhi.
