Adding to what others have said, ... well .....to me it appears like a posed photograph.
It would look more natural if the subject / kid is indulged in some sort of activity like say playing balloons, blowing soap bubbles, blowing a paper fan etc, or even easier, being engaged in some sort of thought, laughter or even a wild conversation.
This apart, in my opinion the shot has been taken under harsh light, may be between 11.00 a.m to 3.00 p.m on a sunny day due to which the sky has been burnt out completely. Had it been attempted in the morning or evening hours more dramatic effects could have been added to the same scene, giving endless opportunity for creativity.
