Hi folks,
A friend of mine has asked me to cover his wedding which is on March 2nd in kolkata. There will be an official photographer on site but he wants me to cover the wedding as per his specification and not the usual way.
This would be my first time covering a wedding so could the learned, the grizzled and the novices help me out with some tips, both artistic and technical, on how to go about this.

Why photographers using raw files in DSLR? Is the file size is lesser than jpeg?

Abdul, you can take a look at this. As for your specific question, JPG's are smaller in size than RAW/NEF/... (any data format).

It depends on the specific camera (most importantly, what's the MP and how many bits/pixel are used for recording the data). JPG is 8 bit, but native data formats can record in 12 or 14-bit.

What will be the file size if we capture a photo at 12mp in a Nikon d3100 ? (Both raw and jpeg )

From this site, looks like 12.9 MB for NEF and 6.8 MB for Fine JPG. Both are for 'large' resolution.
