Yes, you would be crossing into Haryana at Sonepat, Punjab after Ambala, again Haryana after Zirakhpur and then into Himachal at Parwanoo.

With online tax payment available at Checkpost ~1~85
, paying taxes is not a challenge anymore.

Now that you would be crossing into Haryana from Delhi, it is important to note that Delhi - Haryana road border is closed by protesting, so called, farmers and it is a challenge itself to cross this stretch. Be prepared to keep atleast 1-1.5 hours extra for this particular stretch considering you would be crossing into day time.
Thanks a lot, Skysat. I will try to obtain the vehicle number from the car hire company one day before our arrival in Delhi and pay the taxes for all three states using the link you have kindly provided. Thanks once again.

Hello Devendra Ji, I checked the website of Checkpost for paying the state permits online. I have the following questions.
1. When we travel on NH44 from Delhi we will be crossing in to Haryana at Sonipet and again before Panchkula. Is the permit we obtain for Sonipet border valid also for crossing into Haryana at Panchkula?

2. When I looked up the possibility of paying state permit charges for Punjab there are border checkpost names like Bathinda, Fazilka, Mohali, Muktsar, Pathankot, Patiala, Rupnagar, Sangrur that have border posts. Which one should I choose?

I would be grateful to your guidance again.

Thanks

Thanks for your valuable inputs, Skysat. I do not have yet the registration number of the car I will be hiring in Delhi. However, I just tried the checkpost application in the Vahan portal using my own car's registration number and the process seems to be working for Haryana. Mohali has two border checkposts, it seems. One at Jharmari and another at Kharar and I have to choose one. Any idea which checkpost I should choose when I come from Delhi?

Further, for H.P. the portal does not seem to work as I get an error message saying tax can be paid only for passenger vehicles even though the registration number I entered is of a passenger car only. Any suggestion about this ? Thanks

Pls pick Jharmari for punjab. No idea for HP online permits, I suggest connecting the vahan helpline on this, they should provide clarity on all these...

Permit is valid for particular time only.
If it is for 24 hours then it is valid for 24 hours mostly.
Hour starts from 00.00 (12 at night)
Check rules on Govt website.
You will get better idea.

There are many Small Computer Operators paying your tax online on road / highways.
It is visible with boards on road.
Pay Tax Online for Delhi- Punjab / Haryana / Himachal Pradesh.
RTO etc.
They charge a fee for the service.
Some payment gateways are available to such operators only.
