Planning for a trip to Dalhousie/Khajjiar next weekend. Anyone here has idea if any kind of entry restrictions for Punjab entry? Likely the plan is to start drive at night, reach Dalhousie via Pathankot at noon, stay for a day, next day Khajjiar, return to Palampur and stay there and then back from that end.

Any suggestions/ guidance?

Night Curfew is going on for Punjab in cities only.
No Restrictions on Highway.
Members from Punjab have told about avoiding night drive at this time.
You can start early in morning from Delhi-NCR around 2-3 am and reach your destination in daytime.
Depending on experience, return accordingly.

However,
A friend came from Punjab yesterday told, there is nothing between 2 cities like Amritsar and Ludhiana at 9 pm-11.45pm.
He left Ludhiana early around 4am in morning, no one stopped.
This is for NH44 only : Delhi- Amritsar

I also prefer like this only - Delhi - Pathankot can be done in 8 hours easily if starting late at night.
Done many times for Chamba.

Didn't get the part to avoid night drive? Is it related to curfew or protests reason?

Police may harass un-necessarily.
Punjab Police is notorious.

Even if Highway movement is allowed.
They can check with more barriers and it may be time consuming.
Rest is your decision.

Started at 12.30 as other family insisted. Smooth so far. Crossed Jalandhar now, should reach Dalhousie before 12

Update: Checked into hotel (HP Tourism one) by 12.30

What was your experience in Night Driving via Punjab ??

Police stopped a BCMTian on Punjab Highway, returning from Jammu.
A BCMTian on 8th April 2021 reported this and he spent night in Hotel at Jalandhar.
Don't Drive in Punjab at Night.

"Night curfew in Punjab. Police stopped on highway after Pathankot and asked us to take a hotel nearby. Staying at Jalandhar. Will continue in morning when night curfew is over."
