Provident Fund dilemma :-(

Mods: Please delete this thread if it is repeated one.

I have been working from past nine years approx and have changed four organizations. Every time I left my previous organization, I got my PF amount transferred to my current organization's PF account.

My 2nd organization was TCS and 3rd organization was CTS.
TCS have their in-house PF group and CTS manages PFs through Chennai EPFO.

I got my PF transferred from TCS to CTS last year during Jul-Aug'15. The amount transferred was approx 3L.
Post transfer, I wanted to view the total of PF amount, but passbook was not available to EPF portal, so I raised a ticket. The EPF support team replied that my EPF passbook is available online and closed the ticket (which is not true). I still cannot see my passbook. :(

I have the UAN number and PF account number from CTS (the PF amount could be more than 5L approx). I am worried why am I unable to view the amount!! Is my amount still there or EPFO has duped me!!

Question to experts:

1. Which office should I approach to know the balance of my PF amount? (I live in Bangalore)
2. If I withdraw my complete PF amount, will TDS of 30% will be charged? (I have completed more than 9 years of service, though not in single organization).
3. I have my provided my UAN number to my current organization (4th one). Will they again open a PF account and attach it to my UAN? Or is there some other procedure? (The transfer of PF is a tedious process and I hate it).

I am in favor of withdrawing my PF amount as I took a site recently, and this amount could help me get rid of partial loan I took for the site.

Please help me out folks!!

Regards,
RB

There should be a big office in Bangalore of PF department. Google it. Write to highest officer in application by visiting there physically.

Hi,

First you need to find your PF balance. Follow the below link to check the balance.
http://epfoservices.in/epfo/member_balance/member_balance_office_select.php

Select your PF office State from the dropdown that says - Select PF Office State

If you don't know your PF office State (i.e. PF office, refer to your PF account number on the Salary Slip).

Click on your location.

Enter the complete PF number, enter your contact details. The account balance will be sent on your registered number via SMS.

Now, answering to your questions:

1. Which office should I approach to know the balance of my PF amount? (I live in Bangalore)
It doesn't matter where you live, where your office is located matters! Since, they are attached with the state EPFs. Check this link:
http://search.epfoservices.org:81/locate_office/office_location.php

2. If I withdraw my complete PF amount, will TDS of 30% will be charged? (I have completed more than 9 years of service, though not in single organization).
Frankly speaking I don't know the answer. :(

3. I have my provided my UAN number to my current organization (4th one). Will they again open a PF account and attach it to my UAN? Or is there some other procedure? (The transfer of PF is a tedious process and I hate it).
Get in touch with your Finanace Deptt, they will surely help you in this (if you don't tell them you plan to exit). Else, approach the EPFO help desk at your location.
Since, you are aware of the UAN portal, I won't be getting into details of using it!
For transferring claims, please visit - http://memberclaims.epfoservices.in/

Locate your PF office - http://search.epfoservices.org:81/locate_office/office_location.php

All the best!

NOTE - I am not a finance guy and don't expect answers to tricky questions. I also work in pvt. sector (Gurgaon), so I am sharing what I know!!

Please give missed called to 01122901406 preferably from your registered mobile number(in UAN Member Portal) . I saved this number as PF MISSED CALL and check my PF balance when ever i want:mrgreen: it works fine for me every time.

Yes! Some one needs to have an account and his mobile number registered with UAN menber's peotal, and if @Royal_Beast has an account with UAN member's portal and his mobile number is same then there should not be any issue.

And @Royal_Beast withdrawal of PF amount after 5 years of service will not attract any tax. Yes but if you withdraw the amount and keep money in your saving account, the interest you would generate will be taxable.

I am sooooo glad I posted my PF query on this forum. Yes! THIS NUMBER WORKS!!!!:rock::rock:

@hraj : Tussi great ho!! Tofu kubul karo.... :butthead:.....

Jokes apart... Thank you so much for resolving this... I was in great dilemma what happened to my PF amount. I am planning not to withdraw the amount, rather apply for a home loan against my PF amount. Little help will be highly appreciated.

Cheers!
