I do. It compromises the flow of fuel in the combustion chamber. Not serious, just not so great. Is it 2 valves or 4? (I can't see how they'd fit 4 valves and 3 spark plugs.)

All marketing gimmicks....whats the great benefit of dtsi in terms of mielage,power,etc if I compare Honda Unicorn and Pulsar 150 DTSI

I'm not referring to off-road or longer travel, just better components.

The exhaust...well, dirt road or tarred road, whatever, these are not offroad bikes. So, no problem.

The only concern with the underslung exhausts, for me (and i mean on supermotos, it does not aply to sportbikes,) is that it means i can't just ride over the divider or on to the sidewalk, to get out of congestion or avoid a police roadblock or something. But that in itself is an advantage of an offroad bike or a supermoto compared to a sportbike.

Exactly.
The three spark plugs... I can understand that so many bikes (for so many years, going back 50 years whatever) have had two spark plugs, to create a faster burn of fuel, to compensate for limitations of the combustion chamber design (some compromise there for some other reason), or to compensate for ignition coils that are not so good,...but 3 is just silly. I would just say, show me any engine from any other motorcycle manufacturer that uses 3. But the surprising thing is, this engine was presumably designed with KTM engineers. Actually, the question is, if the Bajaj engine is based on the 125/200 Duke engine, then what changed, that it needs 3 plugs.

Thats why KTM is costlier than bajaj due to its quality of components.KTM can produce same power with single plug,bajaj have to apply three plugs to burn same amount of air-fuel mixture.What can an engineer do if cost is the main concern.

I have certainly felt the difference of the DTSi. There's no harm in admitting that Pulsars have been providing the best combination of power-torque-FE to the riders. Its just that I have never been a fan of Pulsar for the way they brake and handles. And obviously those strange sounds coming from everywhere.

There will be and has to be good cost cutting or saving I'd rather say to keep the price in check. Fuel Injection has been sacrificed for the same reason. I was so happy to see the liquid cooling being retained. This is the first motorcycle produced in India to be retailed for under 1 lakh rupees. I mean the next liquid cooled motorcycle (R15) is 30K over it, has a smaller engine and lesser power. I have regularly taken R15 to side walks and have crossed dividers, so it all boils down to the rider's willingness and his skills.

I somewhat agree, companies have been doing it with one, many are doing it with 2. If fuel can't be burnt efficiently by 2 spark plugs, even 3 can't do it then. Going by Bajaj's logic, Ducati should have used a dozen spark plugs in their Panigale, six each in both the cylinders.

Think its better to wait and watch, what triple spark can do and about the after sales service of KTM,in a long term ownership review.Let the rich man buy these machines first.Till then I am very happy with my Unicorn,be it city riding,touring,comfort,mielage.I admit that I am not a street racer,bun burner but I am a motorcycle tourer.

Brian: It is 3 spark plugs with 4 valves for the Pulsar 200 NS And though Bajaj most probably sells a lot of Pulsars but they are the worst 150cc bikes you could buy in India.

You rode it? I hope you have mate before you expect sane people to take that seriously. Though, I would always laugh off the 3 spark plug joke but calling off the entire bike as cowdung before it has even come to the roads is a bit premature, no?

this bike is downgrade version of ktm!engine is tuned for more average than power!

I'd say its a re-engineered KTM Duke 200. Downgrade sounds very negative. But then you can't expect more after shaving off 40K from KTM Duke 200's price tag.

Congrats Makrand. But I've got a question, if you felt the acceleration to be meager and something which you didn't like, what made you book this motorcycle? Keeping in mind the specs and the performance of its donor motorcycle, its supposed to be anything but slow.
