Punjabi Dhaba at Karu is perhaps the most famous dhaba in whole of Ladakh, not only due to the fact that it serves delicious aloo parathas and kadi - chawal, but also due to the fact that it is open even in winter.

Unfortunately, Kadi isn’t available in winter. However their rather large aloo parathas are available throughout the year and are fulfilling and tasty at the same time. Service too is fast and quick and pricing is quite alright as well.

Overall an excellent pit stop en route to Pangong Tso, Tso Moriri, Hemis, Manali etc. and a must visit place during winter to gorge on some delicious North Indian food.

Punjabi dhaba is actually very hard to miss. There are hardly 20 shops in Karu, just before left turn to Pangong Tso (While coming from Leh)
