Thanks sir, indeed great points to remember. Have been to Udaipur once in 1997 so now wish to visit these outer areas close to Udaipur. Will definitely consider now for night stay at kumbhalgarh and ranakpur. Hope finding simple cheap hotels won't be difficult although I understand that it would be the peak season time for this region

At such small places, tourists simply do not stay because they want to be in city area only.
LOL !
Hotel or small guest house stay will be available easily at these places during peak season also.
You will see some good nature loving people only there and views are great in different seasons.

Guest house Kumbhalgarh

guest house near Ranakpur, Rajasthan

Thanks paaji...so the plan could be like this now-
Day1- Udaipur to Nathdwara and then kumbhalgarh (by hired two wheeler or bus) and night stay near fort.
Day2- Visit fort in the morning and then post lunch head to sadri town for stay.
Day 3- Visit Ranakpur Jain temple after lunch and then start for Udaipur to catch evening train for Delhi.

Hello to all and really sorry that I have been so late to post here. The above planned trip could not be possible due to personal and official reasons and my heart and travel passion kept itching me on regular intervals. So did a short family trip by road to Jaipur from Ghaziabad (my home). We left in the afternoon of 26th September at 2 pm. The route taken was ghaziabad, sarai kale khan, ashram, faridabad and after ballabhgarh metro station, took slight left and then got on to faridabad bypass road (after taking u turn) for 20 km and then came delhi mumbai expressway. Smooth scenic drive up to dausa. After expressway, faced some traffic jam in the evening near jaipur. Reached our hotel Holiday inn express at 8 pm. Next day, we went to Amber fort and Nahargarh fort. The weather was very hot so skipped Jaigarh and returned to the hotel. In the evening, we went to hawa mahal and did long walking tour in the market. By that time, weather also got better with cool breeze. Picked up our dinner from M. M. Khan hotel and returned. Next day morning, we just visited city palace and left at 2 pm for the home by the same route. There was some traffice at Ashram but overall it was a smooth drive. Reached ghaziabad at 7 pm. The total toll charges were 980 rupees from which 690 was for Mumbai expressway (both side).:):)
