Re-issuing passport address proof required

Hi,

I want to re-issue my passport 'cause the last one I had, was a minor's passport which expired more than 3 years ago.
My present address is different from what my earlier passport had printed on it.

The documents required as an address proof are: (correct me if I am wrong)
  • Utility Bills (electricity, water, gas, telephone)
  • Voter ID, Ration card
  • Rent agreement
  • One year bank statement
  • Aadhar card
  • Spouse passport copy

Since, I stay with my parents, I don't have any utility bills, rent agreement on my name.
Neither me nor my parents have a ration card or voter's ID. (will try to soon get ourselves listed)
My bank account has my company address on it.

I have an aadhar card (issued this year).
I do hold a PAN card and a driving licence.

Similar queries might have been answered but i couldn't find one. Please help. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Come as you are!
Take both your aadhar card as well as your driving license as proof of address {ensure that they have same address on them as the one you are applying at} and your PAN card as Identification proof. However, ensure that if you are changing your address, you have lived at the current location for more than 1 year, else an addidavit is also required with all rent agreement stuff + police address verification.

I would imagine that the Aadhar card should be all that you need by way of proof of identity and address.
If this is said to be insufficient you should meet the Regional Passport Officer.

I actually took only once and had to face a lot of trouble and time, like you mentioned meeting he RPO. Hence when my mom and dad applied, we took all the documents.

Passport address proof Adhar card is valid. There was a notification. If any officer at PSK says not sufficient, ask him his name post and ID. Tell him you are going to grievance cell. Some people like to throw around weight.
There is a notification on passport website specifically saying aadhar is valid

Q : In case of Renewal of Passport on account of expiry of Valid Passport, if there is no change in particulars, is there Police Verification at address of residence?

Different case : My Passport issued from Chandigarh in 1973, bears my permanent address of Delhi. The Passport expired / renewed at Baghdad, Bahrain & Dubai, and each time, it has maintained the same address.

As far as I know there is no 'renewal' of passports any more. Each passport is valid for 10 years and at the end of that term a new passport is issued via a fresh application. So yes, there would be a police verification process.

Strange rules.

My Passport has never been Renewed (New Issue post expiry) from Delhi, yet the address from Delhi is same for last 41 Years. Who has carried out the Police Verification ?

The Aadhar card is less than an year old; would this be an issue?
If yes, what other documents should I carry along with it? Any suggestions...

I got my passport renewed here in the U.S. The new passport is valid for 10 years and carries a new Passport number. There was no police verification as no one showed up at my residence in India. Also no FBI/CIA/Homeland security showed up here. :)
