Renault Lodgy

Super User
I am starting this thread to hear comments of Renault Lodgy being launched in India.
After reading this in internet for quite a long I hope this will give tough competition to Innova.
Innova is known for its reliability and trouble free maintenance.

Renault Lodgy scores over Innova with FE [gets atleast 1.5 times of Innova kmpl]. This is surely going to lower the operational cost.

Looking at the review; Renault has learnt from Duster feedback and incorporated few changes:
1. Provided roof mounted Rear AC [in-line with Innova] on select models.
2. Has moved the Outsider rear view mirror adjustment to comfortable location on the dashboard.

The key stands on pricing; if priced right Innova will surely take a hit; as literally there was no competition and they have jacked up the price to almost 2.5 times compared to that during the initial launches.

I highly recommend to buy Lodgy over Innova, even to people who are inclined to buy 7 seater Ertiga or Mobilio; even if you need to pay a lac or two more - it is worth it.

Here are some links:

So bottom line is if anybody is looking for 7 or 8 seater do not beyond LODGY. If somebody is planning to buy - anytime in future book the vehicle now for a future date.
Kindly note I am not against Innova or Ertiga or Mobilio they are good products in their own rights - but I feel the Lodgy gets the edge for having the right space and Fuel efficiency [19-21 kmpl in Lodgy over 11-13 kmpl in Innova].

In future we would see lots of Lodgy as TAXI VEHICLE - it would be unfair to comment that it is a taxi vehicle and does not suit for personal use. Do not we see more number of Innovas as taxi than personal cars? Still individual people queue to buy Innova!

The key thing is the pricing-I hope Renault does it right as speculated in the market

1 more day to go for Renault Lodgy launch:

From the suspected price list range; it appears that other version like RxE, RxL are expected to launch.

Success of Lody greatly depends on the availability of Rear AC from RxL variants onwards. Else Lodgy is not going to succeed if Rear AC option is available only on Top end RxZ where the Ex-showroom price will be Rs 12.0 lacs plus.

The Lodgy feature variants is still not to be seen.
I would like to see the Rear AC offering from RxL version. If Renault offers only in RxZ version - then I see disaster in the making.
