Hi BCMtians and Punekars

I am probably shifting to Pune city along with my friend in just a few days of time ( but not sure). I need info on the current rental price of 1 BHK flats in the following areas of Pune - Kothrud , Karve Nagar , Wakad , Aundh and Baner.

An approximate current trend of prices will help me choose better. I heard that presently for 1 BHK flat in Kothrud 6000-7000/- is charged per month, is that true ?? Suggestions are welcome regarding any locality in Pune which would suit my budget of 6000/- max ( for 2 persons), however I prefer a serene and peaceful area and nearby Senapati Bapat road .

Thanks in advance :)

Vivek

Yet not sure that you are moving with family or bachelor. Hence read below reply as if I am considering you a family man.

Hi BCMtians and Punekars

following areas of Pune - Kothrud , Karve Nagar , Wakad , Aundh and Baner.

6-7k are the rates for slightly not-well-maintained/inaccessible/away-from-roads apartments in these areas. Good accessible flat in those area will be around 10k with descent society and surroundings.

however I prefer a serene and peaceful area and nearby Senapati Bapat road .
Aundh, Baner, Model colony, Kothrud are nearby these areas. But they fall under prime areas category and hence fetch 10-12k upwards per month. Also it is difficult to search flats without help of the brokers in these areas. You will get cheaper options if your company provides transport to outskirts (mostly all companies do provide).

One thing will add smile to your face that... there is no advance rents to be paid like you do in B'lore. In Pune landlords follow deposit (3-5 times per month rent) and then monthly rents (electricity extra).

Thank you very much Pankaj for such a prompt reply. Actually I am shifting there for classes. So had little budget constraint. As my classes would be conducted only on Friday and saturday, I think I can now manage to stay far off from my class venue. So which areas would you suggest that cost within 7000. If 7000 is very less, What is the starting price in any decent locality in Pune metro even if it is far off ??

Any of your other suggestions are highly appreciable. I may shift my bike too.

If you have own car/bike to commute then suburbs suit you more. You can even look for grouped accommodation since they offer much better pricing than individual acco. My (very handsomely earning) friend is living in such group accommodation at Kharadi and is very satisfied with it and he pays 5.5k for accommodation incl. food (b/f,dinner). Group accommodations provide you a basic amenities with bed, cupboard, table, chair in a room and 4 people live in 2BHK flats (this ratio may differ in different landlords).

Good to know and I shall consider the grouped accomodation. So, outskirts provide cheaper options. Do Katraj ( the hilly side) and other side of Wadgaon fall under cheaper options since I can use Pune bypass NH4 and Pashan road to get to Senapati Bapat road ?? I think these roads would be better to avoid very heavy traffic of the core areas. Correct me if I am wrong
