I travelled 2 yrs ago from Bhilai-Sambalpur-Kharagpur route.The road after Sambalpur-Angul was not good.Instead i suggest take the route via Sambalpur-Manoharpur(Rourkela)-Chaibasa-Jaduguda-Kharagpur-Kolkata.This route is better.In the iron ore mines area after Manoharpur you experience heavy road breakers,drive slowly in the ghats

Dont take deoghar keojhar kharagpur route, its a death trap!! it cannot be called off road. thats no road.
