Hi,

Planning to go with my biking club (15-20) members with few families in the car from Hyderabad to Chitrakote. Need suggestion for the route via Hyderabad to Chitrakoot via Bholapatnam, Bijapur, Geedam Chitrakoot.

Can any once suggest road conditions and safety issues?

Thanks
Varun

Varun,
The exact details of the road I recommend you get in touch with a Travels bus driver ARMTCo which departs to Jagadalpur; opposite MGBS at 4:30 PM daily.
I am also excited to take the trip; hesitant as I am told the road is not safe [I could be wrong]. Post Bhadrachalam the forest is quite dense and you can get no help. Also those areas are experiencing heavy rain these days.
You are indicating a different route than the bus takes.
I recommend you to first travel without any females / girls in your group.

I did this route on 28th July. Literally there is no road connectivity from Hyderabad to Bhoopalapatnam. Once we cross Telangana border, 36 Kms of Chattisgarh road is not laid (only ballast) we have to cross a water stream over flowing on road. If it rains hard previous day, no vehicle can cross it and 6 Kms before Bhoopalapatnam a bridge is under construction. I was told by the site engineer that from 20th August on wards they will open it for traffic. Beyond Bhoopalapatnam NH-63 is good except few diversions at culverts where construction is in progress.

Other option is via Bhdrachalam-Kunta-Sukuma and Jagadalpur. Up to AP border roads are good. Between Kunta-Sukuma cement road is being laid. At some places single road is available with many muddy culverts under construction. (about 25 Kms) remaining roads are very good. Jagadalpur to Chitrakote 37 Kms road is good.
