NO ENTRY FOR CHAR DHAM Vehicles - 5 DAYS in HARIDWAR

On Wednesday and Thursday, Ganga Dussehra and Nirjala Ekadashi Festivals have to be celebrated in Kumbh Nagari Haridwar.
For reducing the traffic jam due to passenger vehicles in Haridwar, there will be no entry for the Chardham passenger vehicles for the next five days in the city.
On June 3, at the Somavati Amavasya bath festival, 60 lakh pilgrims arrived in Haridwar for bath, due to which the Delhi-Dehradun highway was fully packed. The devotees had to be stuck in the jam for five to eight hours. While taking lessons from this, the police administration has prepared a special traffic plan for bathing festivals such as Ganga Dashehra, Nirjala Ekadashi, etc.

Hey guys,

Planning a road trip to Narkanda during monsoon - August 19. But I believe that the usual , under-construction, Kalka-Shimla highway will be full of mud and slush. Hows the route from Nahan to Solan and further ahead ?

Also, is it a nice idea to travel in hilly areas.. Nahan-Solan-Narkanda during monsoons or this circuit will be ok ?

Thanks

It is not advisable to use Nahan to Solan road in monsoon.
It may get damaged in monsoon, other than this, road is not wide enough.
Normal Route is wide enough and much much faster than any other route.
Coming down after enquiring from locals about the road conditions and if you have extra time then use this route.

Hilly areas are prone to Landslides etc. during Monsoons.
Safety wise, NO.

If you want to enjoy the Green Views, Misty environment, Floating clouds, Rainbows etc then
You can go and be happy whatever comes then and there.
Keep buffer time and be alert for anything that comes as a surprise.
