Delhi (Nizamuddin Flyover) to Rishikesh is a dream road! Especially the flyover through Rajaji National Park.
I have been driving on Delhi-Badrinath stretch twice a year since 1977 (except in 2020).
Three toll plazas : 1. Sivaya (Rs. 95), 2. Chhapar (Rs. 50), 3.Bhadarabad (Rs. 85).
But.... after Rishikesh, the more you drive towards Badrinath, the worst it gets. Almost on every turn, its a mud and gravel.
However, Chamoli to Bhimtalla strecth which was worst for years is now black but even here the sharp turns are again mud and gravel.
From Joshimath after crossing the river, the road is in very bad shape. Hanumanchatti to Badrinath - no tarmac at all.
And Badrinath Nagar Panchayat had doubled entry tax from Rs. 20 to Rs. 40!
