Safety & Security is the only concern. The route via Gujarat & Rajasthan has ample options for hotel stays, in case there is car breakdown, or any other unforeseen event, every 50-100 KMs there are decent options for stay. (Travel will be with family, ladies & kids).

By the way, any good options for stay just before Agra?

Understood and I will agree with you. The route via MP is isolated at places. Why not consider the route via Vadodra-ahmedabad-Jaipur route. I just did bom-del over the weekend. Although i came via udaipur, the stretch between shamlaji and udaipur is not recommended for driving after dark.

You can target Abu road via Ahmedabad-Palanpur or via ambaji on Day-1. Delhi on Day-2 and Mussoorie on Day-3.

Looks good, but want to stay closer to Agra, so that next day's travel time to Mussoorie is reduced.

Sir, don't want to enter the main city to avoid any additional journey time. The stay is needed just for overnight, destination is Mussoorie.
