This bike looks promising to me.

The split seat of classic was a mess, and the pillion seat was a straight lift from the erstwhile Bajaj Chetak. This bullet can do wonders with people looking for a good bike.

Classic/desert storm were not doing justice to the price tag. People like me will prefer this model, though it reminds me blantly of Taurus, the diesel bullet.

Secondly, with Carb, we have much more convenience of maintaining the bike by ourself, as fiddling with FI is a mess, that no one wanted to do.

Pricing, I am sure they wont be doing more than 10 K difference or it will cannibalize the sales of Classic and DS.

Even if that the case, they could have easily come up with the carburetor on DS or Classic. What I am looking forward to is that RE coming up with something different in terms of chasis. They haven't been able to make any changes there. At times I start to wonder that design engineers in RE are that useless that they can't come up with a new chasis design. Have been dragging the same old design since ages.

YS, the only change that I can see in the bullets is that moved from CI to UCE and has came up with different models of Motorcycles. All that they change is the looks, that's it.

YS .. RE engineers are out of Designs, It is not the traditional styling that attracted but the goodwill of Old bullets... Think of Harley Davidson they have so many designs and they are also one of the top makers of motorcycle,

RE should change and move to New Designs now, apart from Same engine with EFI and 2 years later Same engine with Carburettor .. Its kind of bored attitude of RE people, They should come up with something new, May be a twin cylinder, Touring bikes like Harleys with Tourer Bags and all.

Cafe Racer is a new concept, however still an old design of US coming to India.

I am sure if RE comes up with Twin cylinder engine the sales will go much higher ...

I mean come on anyone with good mechanical engineering knowledge can swap the EFI engine to a carburator one.. it is not a big deal, and Do RE need engineers to do such kind of modifications ?...

Yes RE can do that, but why would one fiddle with it's USP, and try to venture in a market which is already dominated by others.

If RE brings out a new sports chasis, with more sporty Engine, I don't think they can make up with the already established brands like Bajaj, Yamaha, KTM, Kawasaki etc.

Being a RE user for more than 15 years and a owner since last 9 years, Even I drool over the CBRs and the Ninjas. I had even planned to go for the Ninja 650, but I had to relocate, hence not bought it.

RE wont stand a chance in the modern bikes hence they try to do the best what they can do with their existing portfolio.

No one will buy a bike from RE if it is not a BULLET. They have already burnt their fingers once with Explorer and Fury bikes.

People love bullet just for the classic stance inspite of poor built quality and horror stories the bikes are associated with , and and RE knows how to encash it.

You know why Bullets are famous, coz it proves that the person riding it had more balls more than the machines capabilities :p

Not talking about sports bikes here, What about a Twin Cylinder engine with special Chassis of Tourer bikes, Possibilities are endless unless someone wants to think about them ...

As for now apart from Tanks and some 2-3 random parts all the royal enfield models are about same ....

If you compare Old thunderbird and new thunderbird 350, Apart from cosmetic changes are there any differences ?

Engine Color changed to Black.
Gave bike 4 Shades of Black :p still all 4 bikes are black if someone looks at it from a distance :D ...

Take an example of Ducati Multistrada, This bike is built around economy crisis and still the best seller till date, ... Because ducati engineer's have concepts they have designs, they built a bike with both touring and racing capability bike ...

Not comparing RE and Ducati, however RE in terms of Hindi kahawat is ""Kuwe ka medhak"" :) Do some small modifications and then sit idle for 10 years or so ...

I was waiting for Bullet 500 from a long time. They launched it in export markets few years back but not in India. Finally its here and that too with Carb, Well Done, RE and the forest green looks WOW.
