Royal Enfield Bullet 500 launched in India

Atlast!!! This is what i wanted :) :) :) The retro looks + 500cc + Carb + Disc brakes + ES + comfortable seats + green colour!! But the small tank is a let down :( RE should have fitted the new TB tanks atleast...

No one will buy a bike from RE if it is not a BULLET. They have already burnt their fingers once with Explorer and Fury bikes.

People love bullet just for the classic stance inspite of poor built quality and horror stories the bikes are associated with , and and RE knows how to encash it.

You know why Bullets are famous, coz it proves that the person riding it had more balls more than the machines capabilities :p

Cheers !!!

Whats this??

Even if that the case, they could have easily come up with the carburetor on DS or Classic. What I am looking forward to is that RE coming up with something different in terms of chasis. They haven't been able to make any changes there. At times I start to wonder that design engineers in RE are that useless that they can't come up with a new chasis design. Have been dragging the same old design since ages.
Likewise.. I respect RE the day they solve the handle balancing problem.
All variants of bike failed to control wobbling of handle, I was expecting T500 to be different because of big shockers but the issued remained unsolved.

But there's no denying the fact that this Bullet 500 is gonna be the ultimate 2 wheeler tractor.

And I'd really love to buy it this time around. Classic 500 looks good but its uncomfortable and the eFI problems, TBTS is too expensive for what it is. Bullet 500 makes more sense to me out of all the iterations of their 500. Off course I'd have loved the this one with eFI too but with a sorted one. Oh, and I need a bigger tank too. With FE of around 25-26kmpl, the tank range range wouldn't be more than 270-280kms.

Armano ka rang pani ki tarah hota hain; jitni jagah mile utna hi failta hain
hahaha but on serious note even I was looking for such Bike but with larger tank. EFI without O2 sensor are like half baked cake. Though it is working fine on RE but if you are going for latest technology you should have all required sensor.

I hope following link will make it clear what is TPS

YS .. RE engineers are out of Designs, It is not the traditional styling that attracted but the goodwill of Old bullets... Think of Harley Davidson they have so many designs and they are also one of the top makers of motorcycle,

RE should change and move to New Designs now, apart from Same engine with EFI and 2 years later Same engine with Carburettor .. Its kind of bored attitude of RE people, They should come up with something new, May be a twin cylinder, Touring bikes like Harleys with Tourer Bags and all.

I am sure if RE comes up with Twin cylinder engine the sales will go much higher ...

I mean come on anyone with good mechanical engineering knowledge can swap the EFI engine to a carburator one.. it is not a big deal, and Do RE need engineers to do such kind of modifications ?...
Totally agree with you. At the end, it is a 500cc UCE engine with minor design changes of old bullet and adding carb does not give it extra . At least they should have created a different set of styling with better handling and brakes.

I also noticed one thing:
CL500 -- Maximum Power 27.2 bhp @ 5250 rpm and Maximum Torque 41.3 Nm @ 4000 rpm
BL500 -- MAXIMUM POWER - 26.1 BHP @ 5100 RPM and MAXIMUM TORQUE - 40.9 NM @ 3800 RPM

What makes the difference in specification? The carb?

Nice bike overall but I am still in love with my C5 Chrome. :)

I used to think on similar lines, until i took it to himalayas on the stock seat.
On the Zma the bum:grin: started to hurt after 5-6 hours on the saddle, but surprisingly it was so comfortable, that i didnt feel a thing, though i could have done with slight support on lower back, and yeah,i was pushing her since i was riding with a ninja 650,i got 31kmpl,it is known fact that 500 delivers better mileage at full load than 350's at full load.

The 535 Cafe Racer is the only RE I've liked so far! That one is lighter, surely faster and with a "new" double down tube chasis would be a better handler, also comes with lot of cool parts, e.g. Paoli shocks, Brembo brakes, etc. This carbed antique is just another overpriced piece of metal IMO.

Pricing is yet to be announced. And at around 1.3-1.4 lacs, it can't really be called over priced.
