Sardar – Da – Dhaba - S. G. Road, Ahmedabad

Prasham

Armchair Traveller :(
Location: Nr. BP Petrol Pump, Nr. Gota Chowkdi, S. G. Road, Ahmedabad

Cuisine: Purest Punjabi Food.

Rates: Moderate when compared to restaurants of Ahmedabad, but are higher than what we find in Dhabas of Punjab.

I love Punjabi food, especially Amritsari Chole Bhature (Though I have tasted it in Ludhiana [at “friends” and “chawlas”] only). My business takes me on trip of Punjab atleast 2-3 times in a year and I love going there due to various reasons among which Punjabi Food is the prominent one, ofcourse apart from the lucrative business.

I base myself in Ludhiana and then along with my Business Agent, travel in interior of Punjab. During these trips we normally eat at the highway Dhabas. The quality of food is amazing and rates are quite cheap.

The taste I find in “Sardar – Da – Dhaba” is quite similar to what I find in the Dhabas of Punjab. The owner of the Dhaba is very jolly man and if you go there after 10 PM you can find him in really great mood (as by then he would have emptied half a bottle of whisky).

My personal favorites are Butter Kulcha, Palak Paneer, Paneer Do Pyaza, Dal Makhani & Sweet Lassi filled in typical Punjabi Sized Glass. I love visiting this place because unlike most restaurants the food here tastes very fresh. Artificial colours aren’t used much (I don’t want to mention name but there is a restaurant on C. G. Road where Punjabi Sabzi leaves stains of the colours used in its preparation.) Most importantly this is the only place in Ahmedabad where after eating stomach full Punjabi food, I never get acidity….

Hence if anyone is planning to visit Ahmedabad and has enough time, this place is really good for your taste buds…

Sorry no pics as I haven’t got chance to go there in recent times and in my previous visits I never felt any need for clicking few pics.

Another point?!! :D
Technically, according to the rules, YES.
No one is trying harder. The powers that be, please note!

Also, now, it needs to be clarified whether P&H (postage & handling) is 'free' or is there going to be a charge?
I kinda see this DVD headed south!
