Scorpio VLX mHawk

dear amit i would beg to disagree on two points
i have done numerous bombay bangalore trips in my 2005 leaf sprung crde scorpio and rest assured the sppedo stays glued to 140 and there are numerous time i pull back just to stay below 140 not for stability concerns but because that is the max continuous speed recommneded in the owners manual
and trust me the 2.6 crde is good enough to leave the innova behind while the m-hawk just zooms
and another one
the innova is not bulky but its bigger and broader (most comfy car to carry 8 people) and has more blind spots from the drivers seat compared to the scorpio which makes it difficult in the city
on the highways i will agree that its handling and body control is much better than the scorpio but for any suv lover and i mean proper suv lover who likes going off the beaten track and exploring cornering speed is not a very high priority

oh and another point after sales is a very variable point which varies from service centre to service centre
one thing that i would like to add as an engineer service centres have a tough time dealing with me and my dad coz we know when they are B**L S*******G and when they are not

scorpio was what i wanted for long, but given my wife's preference for sedan (and mine for ground clearance), we went for SX4 :)

hmm decent choice to be honest
next time take her for a test drive on a sedan and try to go for an suv test drive immediately and try to bowl her over with the space and possibilities at hand

Hmm if you want to bowl somebody over with space, Scorpio is not the vehicle.
After the indica, when we sat for a Scorpio test drive, the space shocked us. It was like the 800. The passenger seat was back, yet my knees were touching the dash!

Well a feet longer not extrenally. but internally.
The boot space is more than needed, and some reorganizing the engine in the bay and dash and seat refitting will make it a spacious vehicle

hmm actually the scorpio probably has the shortest dashboard to windscreen distance when compared to probably any car in its category so mahindra will have a tough time in increasing the passenger space
the scorpio is cramped and there is absolutely no doubt about it but it still comes off as the smarter package
you can squeeze in 8 people for short (3 hour max) drives
with the sliding centre bench in certain models it liberates some decent legroom for the middle row passengers
at present we are considering to go in for the seven seater model with 4 captain chairs and a 3 seater bench at the rear which means we can still accomodate 7 for short drives and with the sliding captain chairs in the centre 4 will be very comfy for those long mile munching journeys.
its short wheel base, minimum overhangs and tiny turning radius make it extremely capable in tricky situations and thats not just off road
example i had to perform a u turn in a really tight spot on a mountain road in ooty recently and i was able to do it without the co passenger having to leave the vehicle

The mHawk engine is great. we took a test drive and it was silent. Any idea if Mahindra would launch 4wd AT in near future?
