And we finally reach the Shillong Peak, the hill with a view.
On clear days it is said that even mount Everest can be seen from here!
This, however, is not the season for distant views. Moreover, the light was fast fading.

After all this, with the sun having set, it was time to go home.
It's been a very busy Sunday indeed!

After the hectic Sunday, we planned to take it easy on Monday. Allow the tired muscles to recover, as it were!
None of us had walked so much as we did today; not in months!
Come to think of it, we have been very fortunate it didn't rain today! The entire day was out in the open with a lot of walking to be done. This could only mean one thing; God was on our side! ;)
But alas, we knew it wouldn't, it couldn't, last! After all, we were in Meghalaya in the monsoon!

Long due Sir! You seem to have clicked a lot of pics and all of them are awesome. Good to see this relatively unknown part of India. And how are the names pronounced? (except of Shillong obviously)

Just my kind of trip report, Anup, with loads of pictures. I loved the road shots in fog/mist. But why so many of the rooster? I hope it didn't end up on your dinner plate :)

Abeer, thank you for your compliments. :)
Just pronounce the words as they are written; it's not like the French!

KDA, thanks for the encouragement! I'll keep trying! ;)

Arindam, glad you liked the sheer number of pics! That's about all I can manage, quantity, not quality! :)
And at this, I will not disappoint!
The rooster, hmm, I wonder why I took so many pics of it. Because there are many of them around, all over Shillong?
One did end up on our dinner plates that evening though I'm certain it wasn't the star in my pics!

Anup-ji,

I am not too fond of reading, but I will happily look through photos :) That's what I meant. Some of those fog/most shots are really good.

So.... it's Monday morning, the 20th of June 2011.
The Brigadier left for work early, at 0730 hrs. But we are supposed to meet with him later today, at Laitkor, where his office is. This is primarily a Defence area, with defence buildings, memorials and parks.
Today we plan to see the Don Bosco Museum.
We'll also stop by at the Shillong Club en route.

Here we go:

And on to the Don Bosco Museum.
Once we got there we realized this was a seven storey affair! With a Sky Walk on the terrace!
We decided to start from the top and work our way down.
