I have stopped here twice, and would be my choice if I am heading towards Uttarkashi. This comes about 25 Kms before Uttarkashi. Away from any market or town or village, this place offers peaceful accommodation though facilities are basic. Service is excellent though, and the folks there are very polite and well mannered.

No geyser in the bathrooms, but hot water available on request.

Best part is the location. Right on the highway, and has a great view from the balcony. The only down part is, they don't have a secure parking, and you'll have to park right besides the highway.

300 Off season. Season is when Gangotri is open for visits, around April 1st week.

It would be much better if you inform them about your visit in advance, specially in the off-season. Since there's no market in the vicinity, it would be hard for them to get supplies in case you just drop in at 8 PM in the evening. About non-Veg, I honestly don't know.

Thanks Salil. And even with the smaller Tourism Dept. hotels you have to tell them in advance what you want for dinner, so that part is fair enough. :)
