Snow Leopard, Chicham, Spiti Valley, May/Jun 2022

DAY - 12, 31 May 2022.
Chicham.

It turned out to be an amazing day,
clicking aways at the Ibex,
we even forgot to look for the snow leopard.
But our guide had and eye out if the snow leopard was peeping from anywhere.

We headed back,
hot dinner and to bed,

Woke up to another amazing morning,
Some Blue Sheep had been reported,
so we headed to that part of the mountains,
it was some drive away,
so we stopped on the way not to miss out on some amazing camera shots.

As we went up the snaking part over the mountain,
Chicham and Kibber in the lap of Himalayas.

That is where our Homestay is.

On the way the guide took us to a point,
right over Key Monastery,
and some amazing views in all directions.

Captured some amazing colours of Spiti.

While heading to the location of Blue Sheep,
The guide took us to this spot for breakfast and hot tea,
which was packed from the Homestay.

Well, a picnic on the way.
and what an amazing spot.

While were are here,
why not do a 30 min timelapse.

Finally we parked the SUV,
and now the trek started.

We took frequent stops so as not to get into AMS conditions.
the guide looking out for snow leopard often as possible.

I am sure you can still spot the SUV parked.

We still had some climbing to do,
we has spotted the Blue Sheep,
but have to control excitement,
and take some stops on the way up.

Finally caught up with the Blue Sheep.
all females,
and what the guide told us,
whey the sheep are pregnant,
they move away from the males,
and the males dont stay with the females or follow them
the go off on their own.
