Just completed the Delhi-Bairagarh-Sach Pass-Killar-Udaipur-Tandi-Rohtang –Manali-Kiratpur sahib journey in five days by covering 1700 kms solo on my Platina bike in last week of September by the grace of God & encouraging from some fellow members of our beloved BCM community (special thanks to Satinder Bhaaji & Skysat Mr Satish). My actual plan was to cover Spiti valley too & coming back from Kaza-Rampur-Shimla-Delhi, but to to some urgent call for coming back, i make it short & come back from Rohtang instead of Kunzum.
It was a long desire to cross one of the most challenging & endangered tarmac of Sach pass & Sach-Killar stretch on my small motorcycle solo but could not able to do due to various uncertainities of daily routine life, ultimately got the oppurtunuty in the last week of September hence it was not wise to let go this golden opportunity because fro October onward not only festive season starts but the chances of shutting the Sach pass & Lahaul due to upcoming cold season.
Started the day with bare minimum luggage, comprising of two bags only on 23 sept 2016 at 6 am in the morning, mostly uneventful journey , covering almost 520 kms till 7 pm in the evening upto Pathankot. Taken the route Delhi-Ambala-Shambhu barrier-Banur-Kharar-Ropar-Garh Shankar-Hoshiarpur-Dasuya-Pathankot. Although it is good & minimal traffic route, but because of some long single roads of newly constructed highways & passing through by some towns & cities like kharar-ropar-garhshankar & Hoshiarpur, it is more time consuming in my opinion. By the evening I reached at Pathankot & due to almost dark , have to take stay at Pathankot so entered & driven inside the congested & very slow traffic in city, it takes around an hour to find a stay option which is near to Pathankot Busstand. Finally got a good stay option there hence retired my journey then & there for the day. Next day initially planned to cross sach pass & stay at Killar on the same day , hence have a conversation with Mr Rakesh Thakur owner of Mannat Home stay Bairagarh about my plan, but he suggested that it is very difficult to implement as Bairagarh is almost more than 200 kms from Pathankot & it is not highly suggested to cross bairagarh after 12 pm towards Sach & killer, hence by honouring his valuable advice, decided to reach & stay Bairagarh till evening & proceed early on next day.
