Permit for Chummur were rarely issued and the chances of getting it now are rare still. However people have done Hanle - Tso Moriri (without going to Chummur, although taking the Charchangan La route) without Chummur Permit.

Nope. To think of it, there are barely a couple of recognizable villages on the way. Loma maybe? But I doubt if you will find accommodation there.
And to think of it, will the route be open at all in December?

@ zack : We also checked this guest house on our visit to Hanle this year and liked the rooms too. But as you mentioned, loo was a big turn off for all 10 of us (including 4 females) and we stayed at the guest house in the beginning of the village.

Does the other guest house have attached bathroom? Can you please post a review?

The other guesthouse has just 2 rooms (and a makeshift 3rd room) with just one toilet-bathroom (reasonably clean). There's a lady that runs this guesthouse and has a grocery shop as well. She asked us Rs200 per person but we paid Rs170/person after the negotiations. Food wasn't expensive either. We paid around Rs1500 (apart from 1700 for accommodation) for 3-4 tea for each person, dinner (daal, rice and egg-bhurji) and few packets of chips and biscuits.

Isn't that the one which is run by the lady named Kasang Youdon? I don't recollect if it had a name or if it was a guesthouse or a homestay, for I have never been able to find the difference. I stayed there last year, it has three rooms in a row and a decent loo, not attached with the rooms, but towards the end of those rooms. But the whole establishment is covered, so no exposure to the cold.
