John sir, we got lucky with the observatory GH, so did not stay in padma home stay, so no pics of the rooms, we did go upto the GH, and it definitely is getting a facelift, looks much different from the picture originally posted, construction activity was on full swing,

BTW, the champange is defitinely out, we did the chushul route without any hickups.
Mr. dhirenmalani talked to Mr. Sonam for our stay at Hanle in July this year. Unfortunately, everyone in Hanle will be in Leh to attend the Kalchakra. Since you were able to stay at the Observatory GH, can you tell me please how were you able to do that, it will be a great help.

I had a word with Mr Sonam Dorjay and he told me that he has modified the rooms with attached toilets and a small restaurant also however, he has increased the rates to Rs 350 per person excluding meals as he has an Al-a-carte for it now.
I will be there on 21st June.

This sounds awesome. Sonam's was my favourite stay anywhere across Ladakh.
