Itinerary seem to be okay given the number of days available.
There are plenty of stay options in this region , hence should not be an issue.

Chandratal stay will be in tents.

Day 9 is too long from Chandratal to Bilaspur. With worst road conditions from Chandratal to Rohtang and traffic jams at Rohtang, better you make it Chandratal to Mandi at best. Rest you can always attempt Bilaspur if you get through Manali comfortably.

Enjoy the trip and drive safe, Cheers....

Thanks for the info.

Do I need to book chandrataal accommodation in advance?

No, no bookings required at Chandratal. Tent accommodation is provided by a fellow BCMTian Jamaica, you may just drop him a message at 094-182-00183, 089-882-03783 about your plan. That's it.

Be prepared to face some underbody hits in SX4 as the stretch from Batal to Gramphu is bad with multiple water crossings.

Enjoy your trip, Cheers...

What would be the approx costs for accommodation? Looking for basic rooms with clean washroom.

I guess electricity would be available throughout spiti valley for charging batteries.

Average cost could be around ₹1000/- per night in Spiti region. You could explore a room availability at Bhimkaali Mata mandir transit house at Sarahan, excellent rooms under ₹500/- but no room service. Electricity yes except at Chandratal.

Jamaica's camp at Chandratal doesn't have washrooms, don't know if other's provide these.

A little fast paced trip, considering monsoon season in North India, so be ready for delays and have a couple of buffer days in hand. Rest Satish has already mentioned about Chandertal to Bilaspur part.

It doesn't rain much in Spiti, however Kinnaur receives good rain.

Check IMD mountain weather forecast before heading to the region and do check the lastest road status from Himachal road transport Reckong Peo bus depot. These people always provide the updated status on Shimla-Reckong peo and Peo-Kaza road.

Enjoy your trip, drive safe. Cheers...
