Srinagar - Leh road status, 2011

Guys I am at Leh now and came via Srinagar route. The road was mostly good after Lamayuru but not so good before that. So, make it a point to leave early in the morning, if you want to enjoy the scenery and want to take frequent stops.

Also, there was landslides at a few places, which was cleared by BRO. That is one more reason to start early, more so if you are riding alone on a motorcycle, as it would be better to reach before sunset.
