Guys

Need your help to plan a trip to Rajasthan. Plan to leave Delhi on Tuesday morning and plan to cover Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur and any other place of interest. Need to be back by Sunday. Will appreciate help in planning the trip with minimum time driving and max sight seeing (if possible). Will be accompanied by my wife and 7 year old daughter.

Thanks in advance.

I would advise you against doing that, mainly because it is too hot to actually explore Rajasthan right now. Add to that, forts etc. are generally open during the day, when it would be burning hot.

This is the time to head to hills, they are hot too, but on the whole, a lot better.

What you say makes complete sense YS. However the hills are full to the brim with tourists and I don't wanna waste time in traffic and queues everywhere. Any other suggestions? Also it may rain a bit next week so hoping the weather gods relent a bit. Will be happy to explore any other destination as well. Please advise.

Would you recommend spiti at this time considering that's also a touristy area at this time? Need to take my kid some where nice so will appreciate recommendations.

Plenty of people are heading Spiti. However, in comparison to even Kalpa and Chitkul, the number is still less. With 6 days in had, the trip would be a little rushed, but you will be able to cover Spiti easily, though adding Kalpa and Chitkul to the plan would be difficult.

You can always opt for off-beat places like Kotkhai, Kharapathar, Rohru, Daranghati etc. There isn't much to see and do there except marvel at nature and visit a few temples, but it is should be fun. Though please keep in mind, these places will be a little hot during the day and won't have any snow.

You can do something like this:

Day 1: Delhi to Rampur/Jeori/Sarahan

Day 2: Rampur/Jeori/Sarahan to Tabo (alternatively you can stay at Nako.) En route you can visit Nako Lake and Gompa, Gue Monastery and Tabo Monastery.

Day 3: Tabo to Kaza, en route you can cover Dhankar Monastery and Pin Valley.

Day 4: Key, Kibber, Gette, Tashigang or Komic, Hikkim and Langza. Move to Losar for night stay after covering these places.

Day 5: Losar to Manali, en route you can visit Chandertal in your own vehicle or have a taxi take you there (you will have to hire from Kaza).

Day 6: Manali to Delhi.

Thanks a lot Yogesh for describing this in detail. I appreciate it. Hope it will be doable in my storme 4X2.
