Hello Everyone

I need help in finalizing my SPITI Itinerary. I will be traveling with my family (5 Adults + 2 Kids) by Safari Storme (2wd). Below is rough Itinerary which i have planned.

11-Jun Faridabad - Fagu
12-Jun Fagu - Kalpa
13-Jun Kalpa - Nako
14-Jun Nako - Tabo
15-Jun Tabo - Mud (Dhankar)
16-Jun Mud - Kaza
17-Jun Kaza - Kaza (Kaza – Langza – Ki – Kibber – Tashigong - Chicham – Kaza)
18-Jun Buffer Day
19-Jun Kaza - Kaza (Kaza - ChandraTal - Kaza)
20-Jun Kaza - Losar
21-Jun Losar - Manali
22-Jun Manali - Manali
23-Jun Buffer Day
24-Jun Buffer Day
25-Jun Manali - Faridabad

Please suggest if this is fine or any change is required.
Anyplace which i missed out ?
Do we have enough stay options in MUD (Pin Valley) and Losar ?
Can i do Kalpa - Nako - Tabo - Dhankar - Mud in 2 days (in place of 3 days as in Itinerary) at relaxed pace (not driving more then 4 hrs in a day) ?
What should be the option to stay in between Kalpa and Mud ?
Is it safe to stay in Pin Valley considering road blocks Or should i just do a day visit to Pin Valley and come back to Kaza ?

Happy Traveling

If I may ask, your trip is just the travel, why not add a day or two in-between to actually feel the place. Further, why would you want to come back to kaza from chandrataal and then head back to losar again the next day? Losar falls inbetween kaza and batal. Batal os where you would be splitting off from the main highway to chandrataal.

Why have you marked dhankar in brackets? Mud is a little further away from dhankar. Although I did not get a chance to visit mud, I think you should try stay at dhankar, something ibdid not get to do.. Also, if it is possible, try to stay over at kibber. Trust me, its worth it.

Dear charanpreet,

For easy paced drive kalpa- nako is ok, having said that it's a fairly easy drive to tabo as well. if you stay at nako you will have ample time next to go to Gue village and see the 400 + year old mummy of a monk..An experience you must not miss.

Also why are you coming back to kaza post your visit to chandertaal?

You can stay back at losar if that's your plan next day.

You can break your journey between Manali - Faridabad at Kasol/Narkanda.its upto you.

Mud is a place for hiking and trekking and most people attempt baba pass or trek all the way to parvati valley. So it's basically homestays with one or two guesthouses in peak. I went there in September so cannot comment if accommodation will be available or not.

Thanks Sudersan, yes i will definitely spend more days at a place where i feel i must stay more. I will use my buffer days for that.
well i am thinking of taking taxi from Kaza to Chandrataal (depending on road conditions) thats why thought of coming back to Kaza

I should had written "visiting Dhankar enroute" sorry for confusion.
Do we have stay options at Kibber ? I believe Kibber is at high altitude 4300 mts + Can their be any AMS issues ?

Thanks nitinraina07, Is it possible to do Nako to Mud (enroute visiting Gue village and Dhankar) with easy paced driving and reaching mud in day light Or Should i stay in Dhankar and visit Mud next day ?

Can i get stay option at Dhankar ?

Oh okay. It is reasonable then. Batal to chandrataal is a really narrow road. So, a taxi is a good option. But you will be wasting almost a day in just the travel. There are options in kibber. There are homestays available there. If you want, there is another beautiful village beyond kibber, I think its called chicham. Not sure though. Ams could be an issue although I dint face it. But I did have a slight dizziness when we rrekked to dhankar lake. As for dhankar, you can try the monastery. I think there are also a couple of homestays.

I think nako to mud via gue and dhankar would be hectic. Try break your journey at tabo. Tabo has a lot of stay options, including the monastery.
