Same truck racing happens between the private RTV Owners plying on Mangolpuri/Rithala routes, where if one driver races ahead , other one shouts in ego 'आंवा आंवा '.

Good afternoon friends....:) This kind of a competition was long overdue in India. But I reckon this is conducted by TATA largely to market their PRIMA trucks than kick start the concept of Truck racing in India. In reality, their PRIMA trucks are not a great success in India. Indian users generally opt for cheap, efficient and rugged trucks than hi-tech AC trucks that require heavy maintenance. This is the fact why Ashok Leyland's U-truck and TATA's PRIMA platforms have not been so successful as expected. In contrast, Bharat Benz is offering better, efficient world class trucks at almost the same price as AL and TATA and dumping their trucks in India. No wonder trucks operators in India are prefering them. ...instead of launching unsuccessful "World class" trucks, AL and TATA should concentrate on improving and upgrading their existing brands.

(Leyland 1616 and TATA 1613 are very successful in India. There is still vast market for these trucks).
