Tata Harrier booking amount has been kept at Rs 30,000, however, curious buyers asked Tata Motors via Twitter to disclose the indicative price so that they can make a decision whether they can afford to buy the SUV and therefore, take the decision to fork up the booking amount.. The automaker didn't disappoint them and has said that Tata Harrier price in India will be anything between Rs 16 lakh (base model) to Rs 21 lakh (top-end variant).

Tata Harrier size:
From the images shared, it seems that the Tata Harrier is going to be bigger than the Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass in size. If you look at the numbers, Jeep Compass is 4395 mm long, 1818 mm wide and 1640 mm tall. Hyundai Creta on the other hand is 4270 mm long, 1780 mm wide and 1665 mm tall. Tata has not revealed the dimensions of the Harrier yet.
But, they did reveal the dimensions of the H5X concept, on which the Harrier is based. As per those, the H5X is 4575 mm long, 1950 mm wide and 1686 mm tall. Considering that the Harrier is closely based on the H5X, it is very much possible that the Harrier is longer, wider, and taller than all other rivals in the segment.

I am not seeing any booking hype on the net. I am not sure whether in Dealer there are any significant flow of inquiries. Till People see it in flesh, they are holding on to decide to book or not.

TATA HARRIER - UNVEILED today:
The new Tata Harrier is the first model to employ the company's new Impact Design 2.0 philosophy, and visually, the SUV looks very similar to the concept model, which was showcased early this year. Up front, the SUV comes the single motion grille flanked by LED daytime running lamps, while the new trapezoidal projector headlamps and round foglamps placed below in an arrow-head-shaped housing. The bumper also looks quite beefy with the black cladding, the large mesh grille for air dam, and silver skid plate. You see similar black cladding for the wheel arches and side body.

The SUV also comes with large five-spoke alloy wheels, and two-tone ORVMs with integrated LED turn signal lights. The SUV also gets, the now commonly seen, floating roof design, along with flared wheel arches, a shark-fin antenna, and large roof-mounted spoiler. At the rear, the Harrier comes with beautiful wraparound LED taillamps that are connected by a black slat, giving the impression of a single unit. The Tata logo is placed at the centre and the Harrier badging a bit lower, below the number plate housing. The rear section also comes with a beefy rear bumper with black cladding, a bull-bar-like styling element and rear diffuser. We also see the single exhaust pipe coming out from below it.

The initial reports suggested that the TATA was planning to build the HARRIER in FCA India, Ranjagaon Factory.
I was surprised to see this video that new plant was erected in Pune in 6 months for TATA HARRIER line. It is just remarkable. I did not believe when Tata announced that the car will be ready by late 2018, I assumed like in past the car will be ready only by 2020. They have executed. I just salute to the people who contributed to make this possible.

Pushing up the anticipation among customers who have been eagerly waiting for the launch of Tata Harrier, Tata Motors has now officially announced roll-out of 1st Harrier SUV from its Pune plant. This is a major achievement for Tata Motors, as Harrier has been rolled out of an entirely new assembly line that was built in a record time of just around 6 months.

For sure need to appreciate Tata for taking this leap. The decision to build a new assembly line with high level of Automation [90%] is not easy! The ex-Maruti man Mayank Pareek seems to have been provided with good authority to execute projects by the management. The Tata's seems to be serious.

Now the next step is to ensure the attitude of Post Sales personnel and dealer network....

The SUV will offer a cooled glove box integrated into the front armrest, which is a feature that is quite unique. Another segment leading feature will be storage areas for smartphone, another feature that’s uncommon. The SUV will also have a rotary dial to select various driving modes, and also to select Terrain Response functions on the variants equipped with all wheel drive. Memory function for front seats and a touchscreen infotainment system

HARRIER seen with lesser camouflage:
Tata Harrier production spec road test starts - Side profile revealed in new spy shot

Engine Specs are out; unlike mentioned earlier the Max Torque is 320 N-m against 350 N-m. My guess is the Turbo is same as the HEXA XE variant - 320 Nm@1500-3000 rpm! In the city I expect Harrier to have better response than the Jeep Compass.

Tata Harrier touchscreen vendor is same as Range Rover Velar luxury SUV

Though interiors have not yet been specifically detailed, spy shots reveal a practical and well appointed interior with push button start, steering mounted controls and a large 8.8 inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Speaking about this touchscreen, it will be the biggest ever for Tata, and will also be the best we have seen from Tata. This 8.8 inch touchscreen is sourced from Visteon, who is a popular auto component supplier. They also provide touchscreen units in the ultra-luxurious Range Rover Velar.
