Tata Nexon - Petrol Model

Hi guys,

I have booked Tata Nexon XM Petrol Model and would like to know has any one received the delivery of XM Model as I have myself not seen it in person. I took the test drive of XZ+ model and booked it on Dussehra. I also have few below questions:
  1. I would like to know after how much kms of drive it is good to go for long drive of 2000kms+ road trip so that the life of the engine is not impacted.
  2. As I am booking a mid variant model, what accessories would you guys recommend.
  3. I booked the vehicle from Fortune, Thane and was not given any discount as it is a newly launched vehicle. I have read that one of the cost effective ways is to do the insurance yourself. What you guys recommend.

Congrats!
Ask your dealer to show you the XM variant before you make any payment. This is a MUST! He can take you to his stockyard in his car, and help you make a firm decision.

My replies to your other queries:
1) Drive smoothly for first 1000 KMs. Don't cross 2500-3000 RPMs in this period.
It's not like if you revved it more than that unintentionally, you've committed a mistake.
Post that start revving it up to say 2000KMs. After 2000 KMs are over, you need not worry about it anymore.

2) Do not go for decking up the car on its first day! You never know what can go wrong. That's my personal opinion though.
I personally prefer to wait for some time and then picking up the accessories which actually matter to me. I'd advise to pick only Door visors - black, and not chrome. Leave everything for few months. you'll get to know the requirements on your own.

3) Go for insurance on your own. You might face a little resistance from dealer, but legally he can't stop you from doing it.

And, with a Tata you better buy their Extended Warranty and AMC with maximum coverage. That's the best accessory you can buy for your Tata car. I did the same for my Tiago. :)

Thank You Sachin for your reply. Yes I will see the XM variant first and then only make the payment.
As you already have Tata Tiago and many parts may be shared, one more question, do we get Day and Night IRVM as an accessory.

Mine is an XZA (i.e., XZ + AMT) variant in Petrol.
D&N IRVM is a standard fitment in this variant.

Ek Rasta hai Zindagi..
D/N mirror is standard on the top of the line XZ+ model and should be a direct fit on the XM.
While it may or may not be immediately available, as the sales volumes settle in, you would eventually find the accessories finding their way to market.

Another useful accessory that you should consider installing is the armrest found on the XZ+ as and when it is available.

Congratulations on your booking, happy mile munching.

Feeling good after knowing that it will be a direct fit. Yes i will install the armrest but am sceptical about its availability. Lets hope about it also it is comfortable as well as just looks awesome.

Will keep you guys posted as I receive some updates about XM Model.

Congrats for the car. Is it home? Photos?
I am yet to get my Nexon. I have upgraded from booked XM model to Top Model XZ+ due to alloy wheels (got sleepless nights when came to know that that steel wheels decreases the ground clearance by a whooping 19 mm), Day and Night IRVM, reverse camera, projector headlight and many more features. Also as we will be keeping the car for at-least 8-10 years so the absence of features after couple of years will not bother.

The dealer says that Tata has not yet delivered a single Petrol Model to anyone. One of the reason for upgrading the model was the waiting period for lower models. I should receive my Nexon by second week of November and this weekend hopefully will get the chassis number. I took a snapshot of waiting period email communication from the sales Team leader which they received from company.

Ravi,
Glad to know that you upgraded to XZ+.
Yes when you are planning to keep this car for 8-10+ years - going with Top end will make sense.
Which color have you chosen? Blue or Red or White?
I wish you happy munching miles.
Though I have not seen the car yet, I feel this will be much better than Brezza.
