The future is electric?

The irony is that we are still dependent on natural resources, which is the invisible hand of god. Wind and solar are not reliable sources of energy due to high variability in power generation. Petrol is not going anywhere due to petrochemical industry that provides fertilizers that improve farm productivity. All military equipment will use Petrol/nuclear energy for next 100 years.

We have to manufacture a sun to get cheapest source of energy which is still in laboratories to get commercial use with less cost.
LOL !

transportation and energy. Electric vehicles are becoming more common as battery technology improves, and many countries are setting targets to phase out the production of petrol and diesel vehicles in the coming years. Additionally, renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power are becoming more cost-competitive with fossil fuels, which means that electric power will likely become more prevalent as a source of energy for homes and businesses.

Storing wind or solar energy is still a big problem.
Batteries are still not efficient.
Scientists are still trying to make batteries that can be environment friendly.
Different vehicles have different markets.
Local EV is ok but for long journey it is still a dream in practical world.

Dinorwig Power Station, otherwise known as Electric Mountain, is a pumped-storage hydro station in Llanberis, Wales. And yes: it's Britain's largest battery. Here's how it works, and why some of the things you think you know about TV pickups might not be so true any more.
