The Kingfisher Mess

The warrant is still out there.

It would be interesting to see how bank's who have extended loan and taken equity in the airline recover their money. By the way, is the big guy back in India? Heard there is a NBW against him. Or has the captain abandoned the sinking ship?

He is still out of India.

Kind of funny that with political powers against him and financial trouble and what not, in the end, it was the employees who delivered the final nail in the coffin of Kingfisher. Sort of what I expected when an employee’s wife committed suicide few days ago, blaming the airline in her suicide note.

Guess if the labor laws in India were easier, Kingfisher might have survived despite all the opposition.

Oh well, Kingfisher will be missed and in its absence, I doubt air ticket prices will come down anytime soon.

I think "political powers" are the ones protecting him. Remember - they shunted out one DGCA who raised questions against KFA. Let us see if he lands up on F1 race track and how the law machinery reacts.

I don’t think so. If the political powers were with him, FDI in Aviation would have been announced a year back, especially since no political party was actually opposing it!

As far as DGCA decision goes, it has come at the perfect time, just before the holiday season when air traffic is at its peak. Now airlines can justify their prices and consumers and media will blame KFA.

Like the saying goes, to kill is murder; to kill at the right time is politics!
