It really comes down to what interests you the most; historical sights, temples, beaches or mountains.

A week isn’t enough to do everything, so you have to pick what you’re most interested in and go with it.

Also the time of year you wish to travel to India, also determines the places you can explore. After all, there is no point heading to beaches during the peak summer and traveling to mountains during winter can be a little daunting with road connectivity to remote areas getting severed.

Thanks for your reply and I most like beaches and mountains but we have 1 week only.

In that case, unless you're coming to India between November and April, my suggestion would be to travel to Ladakh.

It has a beautiful high altitude landscape and plenty of Buddhist Monasteries to keep you engaged for the entire duration of your trip.

You can take a flight from Delhi/Mumbai to Leh, roam around for 5-6 days covering the Sham Valley, Nubra Valley and Pangong Tso, then fly back to Delhi/Mumbai and take flight back to your country.

You can also check Kerala. There are few good places and 5-6 days is ideal time to explore Kerala. Check for places like Munnar, Thekkady, Allepy, Varkala etc.

ok, but what about Leh and Ladakh, because my friends suggested me this location, and we would like to go Hill station areas.
September is beginning of Autumn and a good time to visit Ladakh. Tourist numbers will be down, but the roads will be open with a good chance of passes receiving a little snowfall as well. If you're going towards the end of September, then Leh Festival is going to take place around 25th, so there will be cultural events at various places and Leh Fort would be illuminated at night.
