Let me rant. Going to holidays is becoming Too difficult, and too expensive and Poor experience all at the same time.

All roads and destinations is often clogged on weekends and getting a booking is very difficult. 5K per night is normal rate for basic hotels now.

Any solutions?

Please dont say "Travel at off season :) ", I mean how? It looks like the only places to go in summer vacation will be Jaisalmer or super hot Goa.

Even religious tourism is getting expensive soon.

Air tickets are out of reach. Trains will become expensive soon. Road travel will have 2Rs per KM toll soon.

Try to go at lesser known places.
Many passes open late.
At such places hotels are cheap till passes open.
Many places are not on highways and places are beautiful too.

Pauri District is still less explored.
You can go at many places one by one at weekends.
Only issue is highway till you go & come back.
Till Meerut, you have to go on high traffic area.

Chanshal Pass opens late.
You can move towards that side also.
Dodra Kwar is accessible only after Chanshal Pass is open.

Churah Valley near Chamba is still lesser known place with raw natural beauty and have basic stay options at near by places.
Main areas like Bhanjraru, Bairagarh have basic hotels only. Sach Pass may open in few week's time.

Padri Pass is also less known place at Pathankot side.
Jot is also less known place with good views near Khajjiar.
Palampur, Bir, Billing is still less crowdy than other places.

Udaipur, Killar, Gulabgarh side has less traffic after Rohtang Pass via Tunnel.
On return Journey, only Ambala you will see back traffic towards NCR.
While going start early morning or drive at night depends on your ability / will / order by High Court*

India will get ever more crowded as people discover that it is cheap. A lot of international Youtubers are realizing that you can live in India from revenue earned by making travel and food videos. To make things worse, they are abusing Indian hospitality and are living in their Indian friends' homes.

As inflation skyrockets in Europe, many people are going to India for relief. They are also bringing inflation with them to India in terms of increasing demand for hotels and food in all sorts of touristy places where they make videos as well. This Youtube trend is continuously expanding and more and more are attracted to such way of living.

India offers two advantages for European Youtubers-- cheap cost of living and also millions of followers. All you have to do is praise India in Youtube videos and everyone starts watching them. Religion, food, infrastructure, etc. You just go and say India does it better.

Day 4

Dalhousie to Bhaderwah

Total 169 kms

Today I was ready to ride at 6.45AM. My target was to reach Bhaderwah before sunset. The condition of road was also not known to me. I informed my family that my mobile will not work as soon as I enter Jammu & Kashmir due to Government restrictions after Article 370 matter. There was no internet also. I told them I will contact them from local phone/mobile after reaching Bhaderwah. I had prepaid BSNL with me, which does not work in J&K.

I crossed Banikhet and took first break at 7.30 AM.

After that it started to drizzle at bit, but I continued riding. I stopped at a road side eatery for breakfast.

A lady runs this eatery and I had Alu Paratha with Dahi there.

I rode further ahead to reach Chamera Lake.

It was 8.40 AM but there were lots of cloud there.

Previously vehicles were not allowed on dam and one had to take 6 kms long route to cross the Chamera dam. But now vehicles are allowed on dam.

Any more views needed ?
