Congrats Sachin for your new asset.

Great that you did not go for the Kwid.
Tiago is a much better smooth car. Harman Music system is great plus some really good boot space.

I found its rear cabin a little tight for 3 passengers maybe for long journeys, specially the big hump in the middle makes it feel that.

Thanks Sahil.
Harman system has got a new fan in my 3.5 year young daughter. She loves to groove on loud lows and is always on a prowl to turn the knob clockwise! :p

Rear seat is best for 2 large frame adults, at max.
3 skinny dwarfs might find a solace in its rear seat, but we are from a khaata-peeta ghar hence no chance for a 3rd person! :D

Boot space is kinda generic nothing extraordinary. I am yet to use it, but I guess it may accommodate max 4 medium sized (about 21") soft-suitcases.

Mediocre me
Manual is fun only if you have a free revving engine. I am hardcore but I admit AMT does make sense for non-enthusiasts.

And you are right about CNG. One should stay away. Every pump has long queue. Just too many users and too few pumps. Luckily for me, I have 2 next to my home and 3 more withing 3KM.

Thanks @SHEKHAR 257 .
Even though we heard of their improvement bits, we were slightly reluctant to opt for Tata. But touchwood, in its first 3-weeks of ownership, nothing untoward happened and hoping for this honeymoon to continue for next 5-7 years.

Thanks, for speaking your heart. Although I would vouch for the comfort of an automatic transmission car, but it is actually a no-fun car to an enthusiast.
I love all our other MT cars. when in a hurry! Tiago AMT is a baby car which needs to be driven sanely. Although manual mode does take care of momentary cravings for sudden thrust, it is the real MT which wins me over. :)

Regarding CNG, I am the least informed person these days. Not using CNG for last many years. Long queues at filling stations are getting longer with each passing day. Call me anything, but I am not recommending CNG to anyone these days. Not because for any lag in its performance, economical benefits or else, but due to wastage of time for buying the fuel. I can't see myself waiting for 30 minutes and then another 4-5 minutes in hot weather at a fuel pump.

FE Update:

Used brim-to-brim method
Traveled 335 KMs (in Delhi & Noida roads with AC switched ON all the time), and today it gulped 23.5 litres of normal unleaded petrol.

FE stands 14.26 KMPL. I think that's impressive for a heavy small hatchback whose first service is yet to be done.

Nice FE figure. May increase by 2kmpl after first service. What is ARAI certified FE.

ARAI certified FE figures are the worst joke being allowed by authorities.
For petrol Tiago (including AMT version) they claim for 23-24KMPL under standard conditions. I have serious doubts (like many others) that if it can give even 18KMPL on highways with AC in use and speeds close to 80-90KMPH.

Leh'd and how!
Congrats on your new purchase. Please share some pictures too.

Tata is truly redefining itself in the Indian auto scene and I hope Nexon brings the much-awaited mass success.

I didn't clicked much pics of it, but herez one clicked couple of weeks back:

It's a small city car with spacious interiors in its tiny footprint. Apart from the lack of a cylinder, I love almost everything about it. It's pretty peppy in manual mode and I am sure once the initial running-in is over, it'll keep me smiling during my city runs atleast for some time. ;)

Music system is really great; compared its performance recently with our other cars and this proved to be the best among them. Headlights are adequate for city runs, but foglamps are mere showpieces. They are no more brighter than a DRL!

Boot space is nice. Few days back I managed to close the boot with:
01 big check-in size suitcase,
03 small carry-in size suitcases,
02 duffel bags
01 big office backpack on top of them.
I had to remove the parcel tray but the rear glass was clear. No hindrance in looking through it. As it was the first attempt with this car, I took about 15 minutes just to try the various combinations for fitting this all in Tiago's boot. We intentionally stashed whole luggage in this car, and didn't picked any sedan. And then with 4 adults and a kid, it didn't bottomed out anywhere including the mountains in our residential society, read ill-sized speedbreakers! :D

But I have different viewpoint on this. My DZire old model gives 17 kmpl on Highways. It's petrol one & 6.5 years old. Have got 18 kmpl also during long trips at speeds of 90-100 kmph range. I think it's nearly same as ARAI figures.
