So what is the impression now. How easy is it to negotiate in traffic.
I friend is buying Waggy and I am pushing him hard to to switch to Tiago. Manual or AMT, his choice.

But I see tiago to be a super VFM in each case.
The overall impression is good. We both (me and my wife) feel more comfortable driving Tiago.

It being a new car, and equipped with AMT does play a factor in tilting our favour towards Tiago. But I have to admit that Tiago does have a better engine performance and throttle response.

It is wider than WagonR by 6 inches which does hamper flicking it in dense traffic. In this one particular aspect I find WagonR to be more at ease with more straight side and front body profiles.

AMT Tiago is slightly expensive than its competitors to buy. But the MT Tiago is just super VFM. Ask him to opt for a variant with ABS and Harman Stereo atleast.

This morning I learnt a new hiccup of using an AMT!

I parked Tiago AMT in a public parking facing a wall. Front left tyre was in a 3-4 inch deep pothole. Somebody blocked half of my reverse exit by his wrongly parked car. It was possible to extract my car out of that scenario easily with couple of back-&-forth movements. BUT.... I am new to an AMT car! :p

The moment I pressed the throttle a bit more than usual (as one tyre was in a pothole), it jumped out in a flash but to avoid it banging in the car parked behind I had to use brakes hard, which I did obviously. Used handbrake, to restrict it going again in that tiny pothole again. It was tough for me to repeat it about thrice. :)

Well, we came out in 15 seconds max but those were the longest and most irritating 15 seconds of my complete driving life till date!
Never ever missed the possibility of using half-clutch operation so badly. Had it been a MT car, a simple half-clutch and higher revs would have been sufficient to come out of such a scenario in very first attempt. Need to put an "L" on my car I guess... ;)

^ , yeah, that happens in AMT.
But as you said, 15 sec. Been in similar situation in Nano AMT. :)

Its not all that bad.
Tried the sports mode while parking?

Sports or City mode, it is concerning only in terms of instant acceleration when the gas pedal is pressed a bit more. Creep mode as a technology is not powerful enough to get you out of such a situation.
With a half-clutch operation in MT car, one can easily manipulate the movement/momentum of car inspite of higher revs.

Purchased "Extended Warranty" and "Gold AMC" for ToyCar yesterday.
Post GST, rates have reduced to a tune of some 1500 for both covers put together. I was about to buy it at the time of purchase of car, but thank god, good senses prevailed and waited a while to understand these extra/addon covers better. Now I have picked the best cover for our youngest member, let's see how Tata is going to treat us for say next 5-7 years.

First service experience was not good. Met with the ASS Service Incharge and gave my 'feedback'. He looked apologetic and assured of a corrective action soon. He promised to pick-&-drop my car and will look personally to the minute problems faced by me.

Sounds good so far! :)

so tata is selling Gold AMC again. I think they discontinued that some time back. It should be very cost effective with zero bills for service.

I didn't opted for it while purchasing the car as GST was approaching.
Now post-GST, the rates for Gold AMC and EW have reduced by a good margin. I think I saved over 1500 bucks overall.

Now keeping fingers crossed that in case if something goes faulty in car, they will replace it FOC.

Today they picked the car from my home, and assured of a thorough check-up. This will take time thus they will deliver the car tomorrow.
Hoping for a proper response from them.

Car delivered back at my home on Saturday.
Feels slightly better as of now. Don't know for how long it'll feel like that :D

Well, drove it to both extremes and during a high speed braking test it easily went till 150+ kmph on speedo. Hit the brakes hard at about 75-80 on odo, and ABS kicked in (with its usual noise) properly. Car remained arrow straight and wheels didn't locked. Feels good!

Sachin,
Have you completed the run in period of your car? How many kms clocked on Tiago?
IN which stretch were you able to go up to 150 kmph?
