*Update*

Tata's quality issues hits back in 2017, on a Tiago!

The knobs on AC vents (used to change direction of air throw) were broken during 2nd service. They didn't even attempted to replace/fix those up.
I switched on AC and blower on a high speed, 3 knobs popped out on their own from the vents with the airflow! Complained to them, and the reply was though comforting. They will replace all the 4 vents as complete part and not just the knob! Yet to take car to their A.S.S.

Yesterday while pulling the driver-side door lock knob 'up' from locked state to unlock all doors, it broke down and came out with a metal wire keeping it lifted above from its place!
Will complain again today and try to take the car personally to their A.S.S.

It seems the plastic quality is horrible. Even after the changes for good, their A.S.S. is still not upto the mark. And now the product quality is already hitting me back. It seems the decision to pick a Tata product was soon going to be bad! Let's see...

Thats not cool SOT ji.

Take it to them. These parts coming from 3rd party vendors may sometime have issues. And for Tata, their bins are not too mature with new product lines. I say be ready for few things like these. Products take time to mature.

As long as they honor the replacement, you should be fine. My nano has some niggles, Zest dashboard squeaks at places, but that does not make a bad quality. Both cars tickles my heart and I want to drive them more than others.

Not getting any time to attend my cars. :(

*FE Update*

Went for attending a marriage to Hastinapur!
Traffic congestion from Delhi to Meerut was so heavy, MID was showing its lowest ever at 10.3 KMPL. It took us 5 hours to reach at start of Meerut, which otherwise is just 1.5 hours away on usual traffic. Creep mode got so many blessings from me, that it might have gained couple of kilos had it been a human. :D
Total time taken to reach Hastinapur (from Delhi) was a horrible 6.5 hours.

While returning next day in very early morning from Hastinapur, we were back in Delhi in flat 2.5 hours after covering 125KMs with an FE of 15.5 KMPL on MID. Since FE on MID is calculated based on overall fuel in tank, actual FE while returning would have been much higher. My guess is it should be no less than 17-18KMPL! No AC, 5th gear most of the way and speeds were a constant at 80-90 KMPH throughout.

Creta petrol gave 12KMPL for the same stretch in same conditions.
Jazz petrol gave the best of lot, a fantastic 17KMPL!
City petrol gave 14KMPL as well.

^ 10.3 on MID for such condition is not bad. I like the efficient nature of this engine while giving good FE. I would not get that much in 2010 K10B engine. With time engines are getting tad better.

And, is it true that MID calculates based on fuel in tank? I guess it calculates based on injection method and does an overall average later, until you reset the trip meter. Only DTE is should be based on tank. Please clarify.

It is based purely on my assumptions and observations.

When the tank is say 3/4th empty, I have to drive very carefully and sanely for a much longer distance to increase the FE on MID by even a single decimal place! Whereas it was a matter of few KMs when the tank was almost full.

My Trip-A has never been reset from Day-1. It shows an FE of 14.8KMPL. No matter how sanely I drive, it doesnot changes the FE figure over few KMs.
My Trip-B is always get a reset with a tankful. Initially it gives till 18-19KMPL, then gradually sits at 14-15KMPL. After using the fuel to an extent, it's very difficult to make it show a bigger figure. :D

++++++++++++++
Initially FE shown on the meter is higher and then it gradually reduces, not sure of the reason. Also it depends when are you filling the tank, if you do at night when traffic is on lower side then you get better mileage.
If your current FE is 14.9 and has to go to FE 15.3 post 150 km, then for a small stretch of 20 km you should get 19+ kmpl FE.
