ToyCar joins family -- Tata Tiago XZA ( Petrol, with AMT)

Mediocre me
I am looking for a "Tiago kind of" Automatic car for my father as a replacement of Nano AMT.

The condition is that dimension should be somewhat as small as Nano but the build quality should be strong.

Tiago is too large for his city use back in home town. Eon, if came in AT would be a good choice. 800, Waggy AMT feel flimsy.

ToyCar's first documented "Magical Figure". :D
It completed 6666 KMs today after 322 days of ownership. That's minuscule 20 KMs per day, even after going on 3 shortish long-trips on weekends. WagonR helped Tiago stay in fresh nappies. As WagonR is not with us anymore, it's high time for ToyCar to get mature and munch on to some nasty surprises of regular grind as our primary beater car.

Tiago is not that big to handle/park. Why go for inferior products? Where alto can fit, Tiago too will fit.

This afternoon ToyCar got a chance to flex its legs.
Touched 140kmph with AC in Sports mode. No drama. Easily attainable.
Reached 150kmph with AC in manual mode in 4th gear. Easy job.
Switched off AC for a good 155-160kmph (on speedo) in 4th gear in manual mode.
I think that's max for this tiny 3-pot car.
I'm impressed!

Might get a ticket soon though.

Tiago is 6-inches wider than current gen K10 and WagonR.
It is also 20-CMs longer than K10 and almost 70-CMs longer than a Nano!
This calls for a slightly more cautious driving on congested roads.

I agree. Though Tiago is significantly wider and longer than Alto/WagonR/Nano, it shouldn't pose any problem in fitting in tight gaps.
But when @jeetcp had already tried Tiago and found it unfit for his requirements, why push him to go for it?

Father has to drive in Muzaffarnagar, the city limits fit for Nano dimensions. If nothing else, we might pick a tiago in the end.

Small width helps a lot, where tiago loses. For elderly people Tall, upright seating helps because you can see clearly for ahead, and side. Tiago is not that "Upright", neither is alto kind of car.
WagonR is upright, but It is not a Crash safe car, period.

A lot of this is due to the aerodynamics I think.

I could not take Zest diesel above 163-165 (On khatauli by pass road). Engine did seem to have power still, but wind resistance would keep holding her back.
Even if I had road left, I dont think she would go beyond.

The turbo diesel does progress till 135 very quickly, after which progress is slow. And I had no courage to take eyes away from road, even to look at speedo.

LOL... this is why I am not sure whether it did 155 or 160 or more.
I am sure, give a more open stretch and Tiago can go a little extra. May be 165kmph. 170 is super-optimistic. :D
