Turkey in August

Hi Friends,

I'm looking for help with regards to finalize my plan for Turkey.

Few points to keep in mind:
Duration: 10 days
Season: August
No of Pax: 2
Expenditure: Planning to spend just sufficient time in Istanbul considering its expensive as compared to rest of the Turkey.

Hotels: Would 2* or 3* hotels be good enough?

Cappadocia is what we are sure of covering with balloon trip (100 Euro is what we are quoted) - Please advice if we can expect a better price once there?

Bus travel between cities - Overnight buses ply between Istanbul and Cappadocia which are really affordable. Advice how safe they are?
Self driven cars are also available for around 11k to 15k (5 days + Fuel) but not sure how safe it is to drive with Turks.

Can we enter Greece or any other Greek Island? If yes then what will be the cost of the Visa and if its worth?

Any other city apart from Istanbul and Cappadocia which is a must visit (consider weather in Aug)?

Bumping this old thread. Am planning to visits Turkey in March 2020. Given the current situation between Turkey and Syria, would it be safe to visit the country in March?
TIA

Situation is dynamic there and is changing on regular basis but Istanbul or any Turk city is hardly under threat of war or is in trouble. All mayhem is on Syrian border and that too on Syrian side. You can avoid Kurd region to be on safer side.

A Visit to Turkey can be good idea now as their currency has devalued after 2015 levels and Istanbul must not be as expensive as it used to be.
