Day -1 - 9th February, 2015 - Faridabad to Rampur - 500KMs

Started at 0745 HRS from Faridabad with no set target in mind. Just to reach someplace without much stress. Checked motorcycle papers in the morning and found the insurance copy was a year old and the print out for the new one was not available. Copied the soft copy in a pen drive and took a print out on the way at Pipli. Had a wonderful lunch of aloo paranthaa at Giani Da Dhaba, Dharampur. Started the journey ahead and was spotted by @Siddharth_mittal at Kandghat which actually created some furore on BCMT Facebook page. But I carried on unaware…

Shimla as usual was lots of rush, took the back road through the tunnel which leads straight to Dhalli.

Excitement started with Icy roads beyond Kufri. Although I was wearing a lot of layers, but reaching Fagu I could feel the Chill in the air. So went up the iced road to HPTDC Hotel Apple Blossom at Fagu for a hot cup of tea and adding on one more layer of inners. Going up and coming down the Hotel slope was an experience and a reminder of what was coming ahead. It was here that I installed my handle camera for videos. Attaching a few videos to take you all along on the journey.

All the way it was so windy that on every turn I had to be very careful because of slippery roads and the wind trying to take you along.

Stopped for a quick tea and omelette at a roadside Dhaba after going below the snowline on Rampur side. Finally reached Rampur at around 1830 HRS and settled down for the day at HPTDC Hotel.

The camera was not put to use on the first day except a few videos..
