X-plore allows you to see inside of your Android device. And also outside.

This is a dual-pane explorer, there are two folders shown at same time, and common operation such as copying files are done from one pane to another.
And X-plore shows folder hierarchy in a tree view for clear orientation and fast switching to other location.

You may explore internals of the device, and if you're power user and have your device rooted, you can make changes to system data - backup files, remove unwanted applications, etc.

If you're standard user, you may choose to hide internal memory from view and be sure not to mess with system.
You can comfortably see contents of mass memories on your device, or possibly attached USB memory stick.

Simple app manager allows to see, run, copy, share, uninstall and further explore installed applications.

    WiFi file sharing
Access files on your Android device from other Android devices over WiFi.

Access from a PC web browser
Manage files on your Android device from your PC.

Access to FTP and FTPS (secure FTP) servers is supported.
    Multiple servers may be configured.

X-plore can display shared folders on other computers in LAN.

X-plore can access various web storage "Cloud" servers, and access their files.
You need to have account in supported web service, then you can access your files stored online through X-plore.

Supported is also SSH File Transfer (SFTP) and Terminal shell emulator.

X-plore contains music player that can play music tracks from any available location.

With Vault function, you can encrypt sensitive files, even by your fingerprint.

Main operations are related to managing files and folders - viewing, copying, moving, deleting, compressing to Zip, extracting, renaming, sharing, and more.

    SQLite database viewer
X-plore can show SQLite database files (those with .db extension) as expandable list of tables, each table containing list of rows and columns with database entries.

Main interaction is done by touch screen, clicking on folders or files to open files, or long-click to open context menu which contains options which can be done on particular clicked item, or multiple selected items.
Multi-selection allows to do operation on more files at once.

Opening file may mean to use one of built-in viewer for most popular file types: images, audio, video and text.
Or you may configure X-plore to use system application for opening files, in which case system-predefined application that can open particular file is launched.

Archives (currently supported are Zip, Rar and 7zip) are displayed as other folders.

These Popular Android Apps Have Been Marked as Malware by India’s Government
    By

India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has blacklisted quite a number of apps on Android’s Google Play Store that it terms as either Malware or Spyware. It is not entirely surprising that majority of these apps are well-known apps that come from Chinese companies. Although the Indian ministry has not released the criteria they used to label these apps as Malware or Spyware, some of these apps have been blacklisted before by other organizations as well.

If you are wondering what the big crime is, well these apps collect data from your smartphone and send it to remote servers. Some of the information collected is considered private, including your phone number, IMEI, location and which other apps you’re using.

Well, here are all the apps that have been blacklisted by India’s government:

How to Use Google Pixel’s Camera App For Other Android Phones

    thequint.com

    Nov 12, 2018 7:53 PM

Google’s Pixel 3 has one of the best cameras on a phone right now. Almost all media reviews of the Pixel 3 talk about its quality, in comparison to the iPhone XS, Galaxy Note 9 and even Huawei’s P20 Pro.

But very few people, especially in India would be keen on spending close to Rs 75,000 on a phone. So what if you just want the benefits of the Pixel 3 camera on any of the lesser priced Android phones?

Turns out you can, with Google’s Pixel 3 stock camera app available in the form of an Android Package Kit (APK) that can be installed (more like side-loaded) to any Android device in the market. These APKs aren’t available in the Google Play Store though.

That’s the best part about Android, no feature is exclusive, especially when developers start working on mods that can be used on affordable devices. How can you side-load these developer mods? We’ve got you covered. We tried it out successfully on a OnePlus 6T.

Side-load Pixel Camera to Android Phones

Download APKs for OnePlus 6 or OnePlus 6T

Transfer the APKs to your phone

Open File Explorer, then Download on the phone

Allow phone to access third-party apps and click on the APK

You’ll be able to use Pixel camera mods on a OnePlus or Xiaomi phone.

Pixel 3 and 3XL get a 12.2 megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, but Google has played heavily on the software side to give you a compelling photography package. These mods are well received by developers and even the geeks who like fiddling with their phones.

Pixel phones are expensive, but since it runs on stock Android, the features it has more or less trickle down to mid-range phones sooner than later. Hopefully, Google too may realise that a mid-range Pixel phone in the near future could change its fortunes rather than just relying on its high-priced Pixel series. After all, it’s hard and pointless to try and become another Apple.

Google removes these two popular Android apps from Play store: Here's why

2018-12-05 12:01:13 IST By Rohit KVN

Last week, a report emerged that two apps—CM File manager and Kika keyboard—made by Cheetah Mobile and Kika Tech, respectively are involved in ad fraud. Though both the companies denied any wrongdoing on their part, Google conducted its own investigations and concluded that there was illegality in those aforementioned apps and hence, removed from the Play Store.
It is believed that the CM File manager and Kika keyboard had malicious codes to create fake click impressions via users to generate ad revenue. That was just one of the technique, they had several other methods and did them without obtaining the user consent. Prior to the investigation, they were downloaded more than 50 million and 100 million times, respectively, which is pretty massive and
Google failed to notice the fraud.
BuzzFeed News first reported the alleged ad fraud citing Kochava, an app analytics firm last week and since then Cheetah Mobile, one of the biggest Chinese Android developer company voluntarily removed two apps- Battery Doctor and CM Launcher from Google Play .
But claims were not related to ad fraud. "The Target APIs employed in those two apps are obsolete and would require some time to update, " the company said in a press release.
Cheetah Mobile in a press release has put the blame on third-party SDK developers who use the former's platform and have no control over it. However, Google has found that the Cheetah Mobile is guilty of being deceptive in its operation.
"We take these allegations very seriously and our Google Play Developer policies prohibit deceptive and malicious behaviour on our platform. If an app violates our policies, we take action," Google said to
International Business Times, India Edition .
In response, Cheetah Mobile said—" The Company takes the current matter very seriously and is in continuous communication with Google Play to resolve any issues that may arise."
On the other hand, Kika Tech has vehemently denied any wrongdoings and claims Kochava's report is false as there is no substantial evidence of ad fraud.
"These allegations have adversely impacted the company's reputation and business. Kika reserves the right to take legal actions against such false accusations," Kika Tech said in a statement.
