Volvo B9R

Even I got a chance to travel in a brand new B9R (Neeta Volvo) from Pune to Mumbai. Only after getting out of bus in Mumbai I realised its not B7R.:p
When I stepped inside at Pune...its rear was too far to reach, too comfortable (awesome suspension), got 2 LCDs along length. I was wondering why am I finding this bus so different, especially this long!
But then read in rear.."B9R"!
Really a damn monster machine. Rear twin axle looks so cool!
Whats the fare? Just for experience I wish to travel once.

Only travelled once in a Volvo B7R when in was introduced some years back. And it was Mbai to Blore...terrific trip!

The tour operators are setting a high price for B9R than B7R. Thats understandable too. coz this monster is far more quicker than its predecessor. Also B9Rs have a comfortable ride. But the fare can be reduced so that many people can afford and experience the Volvos.

Well, I travelled some 8-9 months back. And I booked ticked at same regular price (250 INR). Even agent dint know what bus was coming and when B9R came, he said "OK! Now this bus has come, so you board this one only"! It means prices are not different. Also passanger capacity is also more so net profit is good even if fuel economy is lesser (yes, it is!) for this bus as compared to B7R.

Few days back I was riding my bull and in front I could see B9R approaching like a 747 is gonna land over me! Man that was terrific but smooth too, as it passed by me! :)

I love seeing it motion when the roads are a bit bumpy those wheels just keep soaking up the bumps and dancing up and down- specially the double axle rear wheels. What a beautiful monster!

I wanted to say that too....I love the way it smoothly passes over pits and bumps....and then the way its rear oscillates smoothly!! :) :)

chennai trivandrum route

the b9r that plies from chennai to nagercoil is srm transports. I have used around 5 to six times two years back. it was a b7r mark II which starts at 6.00 pm. though the bus is old its maintenance is great and most of the time it skips trichy, madurai, tirunelveli byepass and reaches nagercoil at around 7.00 am. And the others are rathimeena travels and parveen travels. rathimeena too plied a mark II semisleeper. they start at vadachery(nagercoil) at 6.00 pm and reached chennai cmbt at 0800 am. Rathimeena stopped its volvo service to trivandrum in the late 2006. THEY NOW RESUMED THEIR SERVICE FROM JAN2010 with new 9400 semisleeper.
the parveen travels used king long bus in this route, they start at 0530 evening and dinner at madhurandhagam and reached nagercoil at 0630 morning. (its a semisleeper too). they later changed kinglong to volvo and they too stopped the service for unknown reason.
the reason behind srm introducing multiaxle volvo and rathimeena resuming its service is bcoz abt travels launched new ac service to nagercoil from chennai and bangalore. as per the public opinion abt travels is doing good service like punctuality, maintenance and more importantly COURTEOUS STAFF in omni bus service in TN.

One of my friends traveled by SRM volvo which starts by 6.00 pm to Nagercoil few weeks back. He reached his house in Nagercoil by 4.00 am. SRM is doing a good job in that route as per my opinion.
