atleast he is doing his job diligentlyWhen we met this guy I wondered how he had wandered out of the museum
The place is in shambles but the caretaker/guide really knows his stuff. Or, we are so ignorant that we fall for all his stories!!![]()
anupmathur Sir ji, what happened after the Matador broke down in halfBeautiful travelogue, Alok! I'm truly enjoying it.
There was a time when the 'zoo' at Renukaji used to be a lion breeding centre, and there used to be a 'safari' drive in a government Matador inside the large lion enclosure. That was quite a thrill, believe me! Then, one day, the Matador broke. Yes, it actually broke into two halves! That was the end of the safari days!
About the most beautiful thing in Renukaji was the HPTDC Hotel Renuka.
And Dadahu used to be barely 3½ kms away, not 7 or 8 as you say!
We used to go there for a non veg meal every so often, since Renukaji is a strictly veggie place.
And there are areas where you can drive down to the river/stream and wash your car or just splash about in the shallow stream.
May I add some pics from those times?
I first you Master Ji, no seconding youSir,please do the needful.

thanks. I try to get away as soon as opportunity arrivesInteresting! And Alok you make trips almost every weekend I think. Good, good! What has the city to offer, except spending uselessly on entertainment.![]()
That is a sad story: For the next few years the poor Sardarji driver used to plead with all the guests staying at Hotel Renuka to ask the government to sanction a new vehicle for the safari. Some of us even wrote to Himachal Tourism. What do you think happened?....

Ha ha, thank God, no! If everybody had spilled out of the van in the midst of those lions there would have been a major feast that would have been reported in all the newspapers!....
